Ro 4:1 | Abraham's faith was imputed to him for righteousness; |
Ro 4:1 | ¶ What1 shall we say then that Abraham2 our father, as pertaining3 to the flesh, hath found? |
Ro 4:2 | For if Abraham4 were justified by works, he hath5 whereof to glory; but6 not before God. |
Ro 4:3 ABRAHAM OR ABRAM FAITH-UNBELIEF | For what7 saith the scripture? Abraham8 believed God, and it was counted9 unto him for righteousness. |
Ro 4:4 | 10Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. |
Ro 4:5 | But to11 him that worketh not, but believeth12 on him that justifieth the ungodly13, his faith14 is counted for righteousness. |
Ro 4:6 | Even as David also describeth the blessedness15 of the man, unto whom God imputeth16 righteousness without17 works, |
Ro 4:7 | 18Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. |
Ro 4:8 | Blessed is the man to whom19 the Lord will not impute sin. |
Ro 4:9 CIRCUMCISION | ¶ Cometh20 this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we21 say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. |
Ro 4:10 | before he was circumcised. |
Ro 4:10 | ¶ How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision22, but in uncircumcision. |
Ro 4:11 | And he received the sign24 of circumcision, a seal25 of the righteousness26 of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father27 of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness28 might be imputed unto them also: |
Ro 4:12 | And the father of circumcision to them29 who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps30 of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised. |
Ro 4:13 | By faith only he and his seed received the promise. |
Ro 4:13 CHURCH, THE INHERITANCE TITLES AND NAMES | For the31 promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the32 law, but through33 the righteousness of faith. |
Ro 4:14 | For if34 they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made35 void, and the promise made of none effect: |
Ro 4:15 | Because36 the law worketh wrath: for where37 no law is, there is no transgression. |
Ro 4:16 | Abraham is the father of all that believe. |
Ro 4:16 BIBLE, THE; THE WORD OF GOD GRACE, DIVINE | Therefore it is of faith38, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise39 might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to40 that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father41 of us all, |
Ro 4:17 | ¶ (As it is written, I have42 made thee a father of many nations,) before him43 whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth44 the dead, and calleth45 those things which be not as though they were. |
Ro 4:18 FAITH-UNBELIEF HOPE-DESPAIR POSTERITY PROMISED | Who against46 hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall47 thy seed be. |
Ro 4:19 | And being48 not weak in faith, he considered49 not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: |
Ro 4:20 FAITH-UNBELIEF | ¶ He staggered not50 at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong51 in faith, giving glory to God; |
Ro 4:21 PROMISES, DIVINE WEAKNESS-POWER | And being fully52 persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able53 also to perform. |
Ro 4:22 | And therefore it was imputed54 to him for righteousness. |
Ro 4:23 | ¶55Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; |
Ro 4:24 | Our faith also shall be imputed to us for righteousness. |
Ro 4:24 | But for us56 also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we57 believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; |
Ro 4:25 MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | Who was58 delivered for our offences, and was raised59 again for our justification. |
