Joh 16:1 | ¶1These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. |
Joh 16:2 SUFFERING FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE SYNAGOGUES | They shall2 put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time3 cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. |
Joh 16:3 KNOWLEDGE-IGNORANCE KNOWLEDGE-IGNORANCE | And these things will they do unto you, because4 they have not known the Father, nor me. |
Joh 16:4 WORDS OF CHRIST | But these things have I told you, that when5 the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because6 I was with you. |
Joh 16:5 CHRIST'S DIVINITY-HUMANITY | But now I7 go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither8 goest thou? |
Joh 16:6 JOY-SORROW | 9But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. |
Joh 16:7 HOLY SPIRIT HOLY SPIRIT | ¶ Nevertheless I tell10 you the truth; It11 is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter12 will not come unto you; but13 if I depart, I will send him unto you. |
Joh 16:8 FAITH-UNBELIEF HOLY SPIRIT HOLY SPIRIT INNOCENCE-GUILT | And when he is come, he will14 reprove15 the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: |
Joh 16:9 FAITH-UNBELIEF | 16Of sin, because they believe not on me; |
Joh 16:10 CHRIST'S DIVINITY-HUMANITY | ¶ Of righteousness17, because18 I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; |
Joh 16:11 SATAN-EVIL SPIRITS SATAN'S PRINCEHOOD | Of judgment19, because the20 prince of this world is judged. |
Joh 16:12 MYSTERIES-REVELATIONS WEAKNESS-POWER | I have yet21 many things to say unto you, but ye22 cannot bear them now. |
Joh 16:13 GUIDANCE HOLY SPIRIT HOLY SPIRIT HOLY SPIRIT MYSTERIES-REVELATIONS | Howbeit when he, the Spirit23 of truth, is come, he will guide24 you into all truth: for25 he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew26 you things to come. |
Joh 16:14 BLINDNESS-VISION | He shall glorify27 me: for28 he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. |
Joh 16:15 BLINDNESS-VISION CHRIST'S DIVINITY-HUMANITY | 29All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. |
Joh 16:16 CHRIST'S DIVINITY-HUMANITY | ¶ A30 little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while31, and ye shall see me, because32 I go to the Father. |
Joh 16:17 | Then said33 some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father? |
Joh 16:18 | They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we34 cannot tell what he saith. |
Joh 16:19 | Now Jesus35 knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little36 while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? |
Joh 16:20 DARK DAYS JOY-SORROW | ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, That37 ye shall weep and lament, but the38 world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your39 sorrow shall be turned into joy. |
Joh 16:21 WOMEN | A woman40 when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for41 joy that a man is born into the world. |
Joh 16:22 | And ye now42 therefore have sorrow: but43 I will see you again, and your44 heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. |
Joh 16:23 | assures their prayers made in his name to be acceptable. |
Joh 16:23 VERILY, VERILY | ¶ And in that day ye shall ask45 me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever46 ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. |
Joh 16:24 JOY-SORROW PRAYER PRAYER | Hitherto have ye asked nothing in47 my name: ask48, and ye shall receive, that49 your joy may be full. |
Joh 16:25 PROVERBS | These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs50: but51 the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. |
Joh 16:26 NAME, CHRIST'S, WONDERFUL | At52 that53 day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: |
Joh 16:27 LOVE-HATRED LOVE-HATRED | For the Father54 himself loveth you, because55 ye have loved me, and have56 believed that I came out from God. |
Joh 16:28 CHRIST'S DIVINITY-HUMANITY | ¶ I came57 forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave58 the world, and go to the Father. |
Joh 16:29 | His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb59. |
Joh 16:30 HEAVENLY ORIGIN, CHRIST'S WISDOM-FOLLY | ¶ Now are60 we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by61 this we believe that thou camest forth from God. |
Joh 16:31 | Jesus answered them, Do62 ye now believe? |
Joh 16:32 CHURCH, THE FRIENDSHIP-FRIENDLESSNESS FRIENDSHIP-FRIENDLESSNESS UNCERTAINTIES-CERTAINTIES | Behold, the hour63 cometh, yea, is now come, that64 ye shall be scattered, every65 man to his own66, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. |
Joh 16:33 | Peace in Christ, and in the world affliction. |
Joh 16:33 BATTLE OF LIFE BLESSINGS-AFFLICTIONS CHEERFULNESS-DESPONDENCY COMFORT-MISERY REST-UNREST | These things I have spoken unto you, that in me67 ye might have peace. In the68 world ye shall have tribulation: but69 be of good cheer; I70 have overcome the world. |
