Heb 11:1 BATTLE OF LIFE FAITH-UNBELIEF FAITH-UNBELIEF | ¶ Now faith1 is the2 substance3 of things hoped4 for, the evidence5 of things not seen. |
Heb 11:2 SPIRITUAL REPUTATION | For by it the elders6 obtained a good report. |
Heb 11:3 CREATOR | Through faith7 we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. |
Heb 11:4 ABEL CAIN EXAMPLE FAITH-UNBELIEF INFLUENCE, GOOD INFLUENCE, POSTHUMOUS SPIRITUAL REPUTATION | ¶ By faith8 Abel offered unto God a more9 excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained10 witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by11 it he being dead yet speaketh12. |
Heb 11:5 ENOCH ENOCH FAVOUR-DISFAVOUR | By faith Enoch13 was translated14 that he should not see death; and was15 not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony16, that he17 pleased God. |
Heb 11:6 | Without faith we cannot please God. |
Heb 11:6 FAITH-UNBELIEF REQUIREMENTS, DIVINE | But without18 faith it is impossible to please him: for he that19 cometh to God must20 believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder21 of them that diligently22 seek him. |
Heb 11:7 | The worthy fruits thereof in the fathers of old time. |

Heb 11:10 FUTURE, THE JERUSALEM, NEW | ¶ For he looked37 for a city which hath foundations, whose38 builder and maker is God. |
Heb 11:11 SARAH OR SARAI SARAH OR SARAI | Through faith also Sara39 herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because40 she judged him faithful who had promised. |
Heb 11:12 SAND | Therefore sprang there even of one, and him41 as good as dead, so many as the stars42 of the sky in multitude, and as the sand43 which is by the sea shore innumerable. |
Heb 11:13 LIFE-DEATH PILGRIMAGE, LIFE AS A | These all died44 in faith45, not having received the promises, but46 having seen them afar off, and were47 persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed48 that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. |
Heb 11:14 | For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek49 a country. |
Heb 11:15 | And truly, if they had been mindful50 of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. |
Heb 11:16 JERUSALEM, NEW PROVIDENCE DIVINE SUPERIORITY OF THE NEW DISPENSATION, OVER THE OLD | But now they desire51 a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is52 not ashamed to be53 called their God: for54 he hath prepared for them a city. |

Heb 11:26 FUTURE, THE POVERTY-RICHES POVERTY-RICHES SUFFERING FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE Egypt | Esteeming the reproach76 of Christ77 greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had78 respect unto the recompence of the reward. |
Heb 11:27 BLINDNESS-VISION COURAGE-FEAR Egypt | By faith he forsook79 Egypt, not fearing80 the wrath of the king: for he endured81, as seeing82 him who is invisible. |
Heb 11:28 BLOOD FEASTS, JEWISH | Through faith he kept83 the passover, and the sprinkling84 of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. |
Heb 11:29 Red Sea | 85By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. |

Heb 11:34 WEAKNESS-POWER | Quenched104 the violence of fire, escaped105 the edge of the sword, out of106 weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned107 to flight the armies of the aliens. |
Heb 11:35 SUPERIORITY OF THE NEW DISPENSATION, OVER THE OLD | Women108 received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured109, not accepting110 deliverance; that they111 might obtain a better resurrection: |
Heb 11:36 MOCKING SUFFERING FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE TESTS, SPIRITUAL | And others had trial of cruel mockings112 and scourgings113, yea, moreover of bonds114 and imprisonment: |
Heb 11:37 SUFFERING FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE | They were stoned115, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain116 with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins117 and goatskins; being destitute118, afflicted, tormented; |
Heb 11:38 CAVES DENS | (Of whom119 the world was not worthy:) they wandered120 in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. |
Heb 11:39 FAITH-UNBELIEF | 121And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: |
Heb 11:40 SUPERIORITY OF THE NEW DISPENSATION, OVER THE OLD | ¶ God having provided122 some better thing for us, that they without123 us should not be made124 perfect. |
