Ps 9:1 | ¶ To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David. I will praise2 thee, O LORD, with my3 whole heart; I will shew4 forth all thy marvellous works. |
Ps 9:2 | I will be5 glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou6 most High. |
Ps 9:3 | When mine enemies are turned back, they shall7 fall and perish at thy presence. |
Ps 9:4 | For8 thou hast maintained9 my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right. |
Ps 9:5 COMMENDATION-REPROOF MEMORY-OBLIVION | Thou hast rebuked10 the heathen, thou hast destroyed11 the wicked, thou hast put out12 their name for ever and ever. |
Ps 9:6 | O thou13 enemy, destructions14 are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast15 destroyed cities; their memorial16 is perished with them. |
Ps 9:7 MUTABILITY-IMMUTABILITY | But17 the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath18 prepared his throne for judgment. |
Ps 9:8 | 19And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. |
Ps 9:9 | The LORD20 also will be a refuge21 for the oppressed, a refuge in times22 of trouble. |
Ps 9:10 | ¶ And they that know23 thy name will put24 their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast25 not forsaken them that seek thee. |

Ps 9:11 GRATITUDE-INGRATITUDE Zion | ¶ Sing26 praises to the LORD, which27 dwelleth in Zion: declare28 among the people his doings. |
Ps 9:12 | When29 he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth30 not the cry of the humble31. |
Ps 9:13 | He prays that he may have cause to praise him. |
Ps 9:13 GATES OF DEATH | Have32 mercy upon me, O LORD; consider33 my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou34 that liftest me up from the gates of death: |
Ps 9:14 Zion | That35 I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates36 of the daughter37 of Zion: I will38 rejoice in thy salvation. |
Ps 9:15 HEATHEN RIGHTEOUS-WICKED | 39The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken. |
Ps 9:16 JUDGMENTS, GOD'S | The LORD is known40 by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked41 is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. |
Ps 9:17 HELL REMEMBRANCE-FORGETFULNESS | The wicked43 shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget44 God. |
Ps 9:18 | For the45 needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation46 of the poor shall not perish for ever. |
Ps 9:19 | Arise47, O LORD; let not48 man prevail: let the49 heathen be judged in thy sight. |
Ps 9:20 | ¶ Put50 them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may51 know themselves to be but men. Selah. |
