¶ A Psalm of David. Unto thee, O LORD, do I¹ lift up my soul.

O² my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not³ mine enemies triumph over me.

Yea, let none that wait⁴ on thee be ashamed⁵: let⁶ them be ashamed which transgress without⁷ cause.

⁸Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Lead⁹ me in thy truth, and teach¹⁰ me: for thou art the God¹¹ of my salvation; on thee¹² do I wait all the day.

Remember¹³, O LORD, thy tender mercies¹⁴ and thy lovingkindnesses; for they¹⁵ have been ever of old.

Remember¹⁶ not the sins¹⁷ of my youth, nor my transgressions: according¹⁸ to thy mercy remember thou me for thy¹⁹ goodness' sake, O LORD.

¶ Good²⁰ and upright²¹ is the LORD: therefore will he teach²² sinners in the way.

The meek²³ will he guide²⁴ in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way²⁵.

¶ All the paths²⁶ of the LORD are mercy²⁷ and truth unto such as keep²⁸ his covenant and his testimonies.

For thy²⁹ name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it³⁰ is great.

What³¹ man is he that feareth the LORD? him³² shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

His soul³³ shall dwell at ease³⁴; and his seed³⁵ shall inherit³⁶ the earth.

The secret³⁷ of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will³⁸ shew them his covenant.

¶ Mine³⁹ eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck⁴⁰ my feet out of the net.

Turn⁴¹ thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I⁴² am desolate and afflicted.

⁴³The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

Look⁴⁴ upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive⁴⁵ all my sins.

Consider⁴⁶ mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred⁴⁷.

¶ O⁴⁸ keep my soul, and deliver me: let⁴⁹ me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

⁵⁰Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

⁵¹Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
