Ps 21:1 A thanksgiving for victory; Ps 21:1 ¶ To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king2 shall joy3 in thy4 strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! Ps 21:2 5Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah. Ps 21:3 •CROWNS For thou preventest6 him with the blessings7 of goodness: thou settest8 a crown of pure gold on his head. Ps 21:4 He asked9 life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length10 of days for ever and ever. Ps 21:5 His glory11 is great in thy salvation: honour12 and majesty hast thou laid upon him. Ps 21:6 For thou hast made13 him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad14 with thy countenance. Ps 21:7 with confidence of further success. Ps 21:7 •SECURITY-INSECURITY ¶ For the15 king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most16 High he shall17 not be moved. Ps 21:8 18Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee. Ps 21:9 Thou19 shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD20 shall swallow them up in his21 wrath, and the fire22 shall devour them. Ps 21:10 •HEREDITY ¶23Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men. Ps 21:11 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined24 a mischievous device, which they are not25 able to perform. Ps 21:12 •ARROWS, GOD'S Therefore26 shalt thou make27 them turn their back28, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them. Ps 21:13 •EXALTATION-ABASEMENT Be thou29 exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will30 we sing and praise thy power.
