Ro 7:1 | No law hath power over a man longer than he lives. |
Ro 7:1 | ¶ Know ye1 not, brethren, (for2 I speak to them that know3 the law,) how4 that the law hath dominion over a man as5 long as he liveth? |
Ro 7:2 HOME | For the woman6 which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. |
Ro 7:3 ADULTERY HOME | So then7 if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. |
Ro 7:4 | But we are dead to the law. |
Ro 7:4 CHURCH, THE FRUITFULNESS-UNFRUITFULNESS | Wherefore, my brethren, ye also9 are become dead to the law by the body10 of Christ; that ye11 should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we12 should bring forth fruit unto God. |
Ro 7:5 PASSIONS, EVIL | For when we were in the flesh13, the motions14 of sins, which15 were by the law, did work16 in our members17 to bring18 forth fruit unto death. |
Ro 7:6 NEW MAN | But19 now we are delivered from the law, that being dead20 wherein we were held; that we should serve21 in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. |
Ro 7:7 | Yet is not the law sin; |
Ro 7:7 LAW, PURPOSE OF | ¶ What22 shall we say then? Is the law23 sin? God forbid. Nay, I had24 not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust25, except the law had said, Thou shalt26 not covet. |
Ro 7:8 | But sin27, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought28 in me all manner of concupiscence. For without29 the law sin was dead. |
Ro 7:9 | For I30 was alive without31 the law once: but32 when the commandment came, sin33 revived, and I died34. |
Ro 7:10 | ¶35And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. |
Ro 7:11 SIN-SAVIOUR SIN-SAVIOUR | For sin36, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived37 me, and by it slew me. |
Ro 7:12 | but holy, just and good; |
Ro 7:12 BIBLE, THE; THE WORD OF GOD | Wherefore the law38 is holy, and the commandment39 holy, and just, and good. |
Ro 7:13 | Was then40 that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin41, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. |
Ro 7:14 BIBLE, THE; THE WORD OF GOD LIBERTY-BONDAGE | ¶ For we know that the law42 is spiritual: but43 I am carnal44, sold45 under sin. |
Ro 7:15 SIN-SAVIOUR | For that46 which I do I allow47 not: for what48 I would, that do I not; but what I hate49, that do I. |
Ro 7:16 | as I acknowledge, who am grieved because I cannot keep it. |
Ro 7:16 | If then I do that which I would not, I consent50 unto the law that it is good. |
Ro 7:17 | Now then it is no more51 I that do it, but sin52 that dwelleth in me. |
Ro 7:18 FLESH, THE WEAKNESS-POWER | For I know that in me53 (that is, in my54 flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will55 is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. |
Ro 7:19 | For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. |
Ro 7:20 | ¶ Now if I do that I would not, it is no56 more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. |
Ro 7:21 | I find then a law57, that, when I would do good, evil58 is present with me. |
Ro 7:22 BIBLE, THE; THE WORD OF GOD | For I delight59 in the law of God after the inward60 man: |
Ro 7:23 BATTLE OF LIFE CARNALITY LIBERTY-BONDAGE | But I see another61 law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and63 bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. |
Ro 7:24 | O wretched64 man that I am! who65 shall deliver me from the body of this66 death? |
Ro 7:25 FLESH, THE | I thank God67 through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then68 with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. |
