¶ I beseech¹ you therefore, brethren, by the² mercies of God, that ye³ present your bodies a living⁴ sacrifice, holy, acceptable⁵ unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not⁶ conformed to this world: but be ye⁷ transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove⁸ what is that good⁹, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

For I say¹⁰, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to¹¹ think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly¹², according¹³ as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

¹⁴For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

¹⁵So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

Having then¹⁶ gifts differing according¹⁷ to the grace that is given to us, whether¹⁸ prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion¹⁹ of faith;

Or ministry²⁰, let us wait on our ministering: or he²¹ that teacheth, on teaching;

Or he that exhorteth²², on exhortation: he that giveth²³, let him do it with simplicity²⁴; he that ruleth²⁵, with diligence²⁶; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Let love²⁸ be without dissimulation. Abhor²⁹ that which is evil; cleave³⁰ to that which is good.

¶ Be kindly³¹ affectioned one to another with brotherly love³²; in honour³³ preferring one another;

Not slothful³⁴ in business; fervent³⁵ in spirit; serving³⁶ the Lord;

Rejoicing³⁷ in hope; patient³⁸ in tribulation; continuing³⁹ instant in prayer;

Distributing⁴⁰ to the necessity of saints; given⁴¹ to hospitality.

⁴²Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Rejoice⁴³ with them that do rejoice, and weep⁴⁴ with them that weep.

Be of the⁴⁵ same mind⁴⁶ one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate⁴⁷. Be not⁴⁸ wise in your own conceits.

Recompense⁴⁹ to no man evil for evil. Provide⁵⁰ things honest in the sight of all men.

⁵¹If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Dearly beloved, avenge⁵² not yourselves, but rather give⁵³ place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance⁵⁴ is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

¶ Therefore if thine⁵⁵ enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals⁵⁶ of fire on his head.

⁵⁷Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
