Christ reproves the Scribes and Pharisees for transgressing God's commandments through their own traditions;
M't 15:1

Then came1 to Jesus scribes2 and Pharisees, which3 were of Jerusalem, saying,

M't 15:2
CHARITABLENESS-UNCHARITABLENESS

Why do thy disciples transgress4 the tradition5 of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

M't 15:3
BIBLE, THE; THE WORD OF GOD

But he answered and said unto them, Why6 do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

M't 15:4
YOUNG PEOPLE

For God7 commanded, saying, Honour8 thy father and mother: and, He9 that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

M't 15:5

But ye say10, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is11 a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;

M't 15:6

And honour12 not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus13 have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

M't 15:7
RELIGION, TRUE-FALSE

Ye hypocrites14, well15 did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

M't 15:8
FELLOWSHIP-ESTRANGEMENT
RELIGION, TRUE-FALSE

This people draweth16 nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but17 their heart is far from me.

But in18 vain they do worship me, teaching19 for doctrines the commandments of men.

M't 15:10
teaches how that which goes into the mouth does not defile a man.
M't 15:10

And he20 called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear21, and understand:

M't 15:14
BLINDNESS-VISION

Let26 them alone: they27 be blind leaders of the blind. And if28 the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

M't 15:15
PETER

Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare29 unto us this parable.

M't 15:16
DISCERNMENT-DULLNESS
PETER

30And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?

M't 15:17

Do not ye yet understand, that31 whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is32 cast out into the draught?

M't 15:18

33But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

M't 15:19
MIND, CARNAL-SPIRITUAL
SIN-SAVIOUR

For out34 of the heart proceed evil35 thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

M't 15:20

These are the things which36 defile a man: but37 to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
