Lu 8:1 KINGDOM, SPIRITUAL TIDINGS, GOOD | ¶ And it came to pass afterward, that1 he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad2 tidings of the kingdom of God: and the3 twelve were with him, |
Lu 8:2 DEMONIACS MARY MARY SATAN-EVIL SPIRITS WOMEN | And certain4 women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out5 of whom went seven devils, |
Lu 8:3 WOMEN | And Joanna6 the wife of Chuza Herod's7 steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their8 substance. |
Lu 8:4 | Christ, after he had preached from place to place, attended by his apostles, propounds the parable of the sower, |
Lu 8:4 | ¶9And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: |
Lu 8:5 SOWING AND REAPING | A sower10 went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell11 by the way side; and it12 was trodden down, and the13 fowls of the air devoured it. |
Lu 8:6 | 14And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. |
Lu 8:7 | And some fell among thorns15; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. |
Lu 8:8 CHRIST JESUS | And other16 fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold17. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that18 hath ears to hear, let him hear. |
Lu 8:9 | And his disciples asked him, saying, What19 might this parable be? |
Lu 8:10 | ¶ And he said, Unto20 you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing21 they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. |

Lu 8:12 | Those by23 the way side are they that hear; then24 cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. |
Lu 8:13 DETERIORATION-DEVELOPMENT | They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the25 word with joy; and these have26 no root, which for27 a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. |
Lu 8:14 SELF-INDULGENCE-SELF-DENIAL | And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are28 choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring29 no fruit to perfection. |
Lu 8:15 DEAFNESS-HEARING HEART, THE HUMAN | But that on the good ground are they, which in an30 honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep31 it, and bring32 forth fruit with patience. |

Lu 8:22 | ¶ Now it came to pass on a certain day, that43 he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let44 us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. |
Lu 8:23 CHRIST'S DIVINITY-HUMANITY | But as they sailed he fell45 asleep: and there came46 down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. |
Lu 8:24 CHRIST JESUS MIRACLES | And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master47, master, we perish. Then he arose48, and rebuked49 the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. |
Lu 8:25 ASTONISHMENT WEAKNESS-POWER | And he said unto them, Where50 is your faith? And they being51 afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him. |
Lu 8:26 | casts the legion of devils out of the man into the herd of swine; |
Lu 8:26 GADARENES OR GERGESENES MIRACLES Galilee | 52And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. |
Lu 8:27 | And when he went forth to land, there met54 him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware55 no clothes, neither abode in any house, but56 in the tombs. |
Lu 8:28 | When he saw Jesus, he cried57 out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What58 have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech59 thee, torment me not. |
Lu 8:29 WILDERNESSES | (For he had commanded60 the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught61 him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) |
Lu 8:30 EVIL SPIRITS, MANY LEGION | ¶ And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion62: because many63 devils were entered into him. |
Lu 8:31 | And they64 besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep65. |
Lu 8:32 | And there was there an66 herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought67 him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered68 them. |
Lu 8:33 | Then69 went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd70 ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked. |
Lu 8:34 | When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled71, and went and told it in the city and in the country. |
Lu 8:35 HUMILITY-PRIDE | Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found72 the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting73 at the feet of Jesus, clothed74, and in his75 right mind: and they were afraid. |
Lu 8:36 | They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed. |
Lu 8:37 | is rejected of the Gadarenes,; |
Lu 8:37 | Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought76 him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he77 went up into the ship, and returned back again. |
Lu 8:38 | Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought78 him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying79, |
Lu 8:39 EARNESTNESS-INDIFFERENCE HOME | Return80 to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published81 throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him. |
Lu 8:40 RECEPTION-REJECTION OF GOD AND TRUTH | ¶ And it came to pass, that,82 when Jesus was returned, the people83 gladly received him: for they were all waiting84 for him. |
Lu 8:41 MIRACLES OBEISANCE | And, behold, there85 came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler86 of the synagogue: and he fell87 down at Jesus' feet, and besought88 him that he would come into his house: |
Lu 8:42 ONLY CHILD | For he had one89 only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she90 lay a dying. But91 as he went the people thronged him. |

Lu 8:43 MIRACLES | And a woman having92 an issue of blood twelve93 years, which had94 spent all her living upon physicians, neither95 could be healed of any, |
Lu 8:44 | Came behind96 him, and touched97 the border of his garment: and immediately98 her issue of blood stanched. |
Lu 8:45 CHRIST JESUS EXPRESSION OF GOOD-REPRESSION OF EVIL POPULARITY | And Jesus said, Who99 touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude100 throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? |
Lu 8:46 HEALING VIRTUE, EMANATING FROM CHRIST, AND THE APOSTLES | And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for101 I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. |
Lu 8:47 | And when102 the woman saw that she was not hid, she came103 trembling, and falling down before him, she declared104 unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. |
Lu 8:48 | And he said unto her, Daughter105, be of good comfort: thy106 faith hath made thee whole; go107 in peace. |
Lu 8:49 | and raises from death Jairus's daughter. |
Lu 8:49 WHOLENESS OR HEALTH RESTORED | While he108 yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble109 not the Master. |
Lu 8:50 FAITH-UNBELIEF WHOLENESS OR HEALTH RESTORED | ¶ But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe110 only, and she shall be made whole. |
Lu 8:51 JAMES | And when he came into the house, he suffered111 no man to go in, save112 Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. |
Lu 8:52 | And all113 wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she114 is not dead, but sleepeth. |
Lu 8:53 | And they laughed115 him to scorn, knowing116 that she was dead. |
Lu 8:54 | And he put117 them all out, and took118 her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid119, arise. |
Lu 8:55 | And her spirit120 came again, and she arose straightway: and he121 commanded to give her meat. |
Lu 8:56 | And her parents were astonished: but he charged122 them that they should tell no man what was done. |
