Ps 89:1 FAITHFULNESS-UNFAITHFULNESS | ¶ Maschil of Ethan2 the Ezrahite. I will3 sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with4 my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness5 to all generations6. |
Ps 89:2 | For I have said, Mercy7 shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness8 shalt thou establish in the very heavens. |
Ps 89:3 | I have made9 a covenant with my chosen10, I have sworn11 unto David my servant, |
Ps 89:4 | 12Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah. |
Ps 89:5 | for his wonderful power; |
Ps 89:5 | ¶ And the heavens13 shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation14 of the saints. |
Ps 89:6 NONE LIKE GOD | For who15 in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons16 of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD? |
Ps 89:7 REVERENCE-IRREVERENCE TITLES AND NAMES WORSHIP, TRUE AND FALSE | 17God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him. |
Ps 89:8 | O LORD18 God of hosts, who is a strong19 LORD like20 unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? |
Ps 89:9 WEAKNESS-POWER | 21Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them. |
Ps 89:10 Rahab | ¶ Thou hast22 broken Rahab23 in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm24. |
Ps 89:11 STEWARDSHIP-OWNERSHIP | 25The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them. |
Ps 89:12 MOUNTAINS AND HILLS Tabor 1 Hermon | The north26 and the south thou hast created them: Tabor27 and Hermon28 shall rejoice29 in thy name. |
Ps 89:13 ARM, DIVINE HAND, DIVINE | Thou hast a mighty arm30: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand. |
Ps 89:14 | Justice31 and judgment are the habitation32 of thy throne: mercy33 and truth shall go before thy face. |

Ps 89:15 BEATITUDES | ¶ Blessed is the people that know34 the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light35 of thy countenance. |
Ps 89:16 JOY-SORROW | In thy name36 shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness37 shall they be exalted. |
Ps 89:17 FAVOUR-DISFAVOUR | For thou38 art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn39 shall be exalted. |
Ps 89:18 | For the LORD is40 our defence; and the Holy41 One of Israel is our king42. |
Ps 89:19 | for his favour to the kingdom of David. |
Ps 89:19 | ¶ Then43 thou spakest in vision to thy holy44 one, and saidst, I have laid45 help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted46 one chosen out of the people. |
Ps 89:20 | ¶47I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: |
Ps 89:21 WEAKNESS-POWER | With48 whom my hand shall be established: mine49 arm also shall strengthen him. |
Ps 89:22 | The enemy50 shall not exact upon him; nor the son51 of wickedness afflict him. |
Ps 89:23 | And I will52 beat down his foes before his face, and plague53 them that hate him. |
Ps 89:24 HORN | But my54 faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my55 name shall his horn be exalted. |
Ps 89:25 | I will56 set his hand57 also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers. |
Ps 89:26 | He shall cry unto me, Thou58 art my father, my God59, and the rock60 of my salvation. |
Ps 89:27 | Also61 I will make him my firstborn, higher62 than the kings of the earth. |
Ps 89:28 COVENANTS AND VOWS MERCIFULNESS-UNMERCIFULNESS | My mercy63 will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant64 shall stand fast with him. |
Ps 89:29 | His seed65 also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne66 as the days67 of heaven. |
Ps 89:30 | ¶ If68 his children forsake69 my law, and walk70 not in my judgments; |
Ps 89:31 | If they break71 my statutes, and keep not my commandments; |
Ps 89:32 ROD OF CORRECTION | 72Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. |
Ps 89:33 | Nevertheless73 my lovingkindness will I not utterly take74 from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail75. |
Ps 89:34 | My covenant76 will I not break, nor77 alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. |

Ps 89:39 | Thou hast made void88 the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned89 his crown by casting it to the ground. |
Ps 89:40 | ¶ Thou hast broken90 down all his hedges; thou hast brought91 his strong holds to ruin. |
Ps 89:41 | All92 that pass by the way spoil him: he is93 a reproach to his neighbours. |
Ps 89:42 | 94Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice. |
Ps 89:43 | Thou hast also turned95 the edge of his sword, and hast not made96 him to stand in the battle. |
Ps 89:44 | Thou97 hast made his glory98 to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground. |

Ps 89:50 | ¶111Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people; |
