Ps 59:1 | ¶ To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam2 of David; when3 Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him. Deliver4 me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me5 from them that rise up against me. |
Ps 59:2 DELIVERANCE | Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save6 me from bloody men. |
Ps 59:3 | For, lo, they7 lie in wait for my soul: the mighty8 are gathered against me; not9 for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD. |
Ps 59:4 | They run10 and prepare themselves without my fault: awake11 to help me,12 and behold. |
Ps 59:5 | Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God13 of Israel, awake to visit14 all the heathen15: be not16 merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah. |

Ps 59:7 | Behold, they belch18 out with their mouth: swords19 are in their lips: for who,20 say they, doth hear? |

Ps 59:8 CONTEMPT, DIVINE | ¶ But thou,21 O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen22 in derision. |
Ps 59:9 | Because of his strength23 will I wait upon thee: for God24 is my defence25. |
Ps 59:10 | ¶ The God26 of my mercy shall prevent27 me: God shall let28 me see my desire upon mine enemies29. |

Ps 59:11 | Slay30 them not, lest my people forget: scatter31 them by thy power; and bring32 them down, O Lord our shield33. |
Ps 59:12 BLASPHEMY, PROFANITY, CURSING | For the34 sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken35 in their pride: and for cursing36 and lying which they speak. |
Ps 59:13 SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD | Consume37 them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let38 them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah. |
Ps 59:14 | And at evening39 let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. |
Ps 59:15 | Let them wander40 up and down for meat41, and grudge42 if they be not satisfied. |
