Ps 149:1	The prophet exhorts to praise God for his love to the church;
Ps 149:1 •NEW MAN	¶ Praise ye the LORD¹. Sing² unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation³ of saints.
Ps 149:2 Zion	Let Israel rejoice⁴ in him that made him: let the⁵ children of Zion be joyful in their King.
Ps 149:3 •DANCING	Let them praise his name in the dance⁶: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel⁷ and harp.
Ps 149:4 •BEAUTY-DISFIGUREMENT •MEEKNESS-RETALIATION	For the LORD taketh pleasure⁸ in his people: he will beautify⁹ the meek with salvation.
Ps 149:5	and for that power which he has given to the church.
Ps 149:5 •MUSIC	Let the saints¹⁰ be joyful in glory: let them sing¹¹ aloud upon their beds.
Ps 149:6	¶ Let the high¹² praises of God be in their mouth¹³, and a twoedged¹⁴ sword in their hand;
Ps 149:7	¹⁵To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
Ps 149:8	¹⁶To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
Ps 149:9 •RIGHTEOUS-WICKED	To execute¹⁷ upon them the judgment written: this honour¹⁸ have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
