newbie-admin question about telnet URLs

I'm trying to enable a WWW page jumping-off point that will do an auto
login (thereby skipping the "connect guest" part), something like:

  telnet://guest@my.moo.com:7777


But it doesn't seem to like this way of passing the login name...any way
around this?
