Hook: | Partridge Bartleet Supreme CS10/2 #1.
Rib: | medium silver oval tinsel,
with fine silver oval tinsel leading by its own width.
Body: | rear 1/3 orange uni-floss,
front 2/3 red Berlin wool.
Hackle: | yellow coque, one side stripped, wound contrary to the rib,
and secured by the second rib.
Collar: | black coque, one side stripped.
Wing: | bronze mallard, tented, vertical style.
Head: | red.
Note: | A modern Pacific Northwest steelhead pattern.
This is usually tied with a very low horizontal style
wing, but some people say vertical style has more action
in the water. Red dubbing is sometimes used instead of the
red Berlin wool, in which case it should be applied using
Syd Glasso's split floss technique.
