Hiram was from Tyre. What does the Bible have to say about this city? Tyre means ``a rock.'' It was a Phnecian city on the Mediterranean coast. The people of Tyre had no regard for the things of God, as exemplified by their blatant disregard for the Sabbath:
Ne 13:16 There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.
They were out to destroy God's people:
Ps 83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Tyre was a place of demons and devils:
Mt 15:21 ¶Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
And unclean spirits:
Lu 6:17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
18 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
Tyre, as a type of an evil spiritual kingdom, was despised by the ruling political kingdom, but because Tyre had friends in high places, and because they gained profit from the political kingdom, they made peace with it. As a result, the spiritual kingdom worshipped the ruler of the political kingdom, even to the extent that they recognized him not as a man, but as God:
Ac 12:20 ¶And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king's chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king's country.
21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
The Bible is plain: Tyre was a very wicked and evil place, and a type for the kingdom of the Antichrist. The religion of Tyre is the religion of the Antichrist.
