Re 11:1 | The two witnesses prophesy. |
Re 11:1 | ¶ And there was given me a reed1 like unto a rod: and the2 angel stood, saying, Rise3, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. |
Re 11:2 | But the court4 which is without the temple leave out5, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the6 holy city shall they tread7 under foot forty8 and two months. |
Re 11:3 JOY-SORROW | ¶ And I will give power9 unto my two10 witnesses11, and they shall12 prophesy a thousand13 two hundred and threescore days, clothed14 in sackcloth. |
Re 11:4 TREES | These are the two olive15 trees, and the two candlesticks16 standing17 before the God18 of the earth. |
Re 11:5 | And if any man will hurt them, fire19 proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. |
Re 11:6 | They have power to shut heaven, that it rain not. |
Re 11:6 | These have power20 to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over21 waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. |
Re 11:7 | The beast shall fight against them, and kill them. |
Re 11:7 | And when22 they shall have finished their testimony, the beast23 that ascendeth out24 of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. |
Re 11:8 | They lie unburied; |
Re 11:8 FUTURE STATE OF THE WICKED SODOM Egypt Sodom | And their dead25 bodies shall lie in the street of the great26 city, which spiritually is called Sodom27 and Egypt28, where also our Lord29 was crucified. |
Re 11:9 | And they of the people30 and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three31 days and an half, and shall not32 suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. |
Re 11:10 | ¶ And they that dwell33 upon the earth shall rejoice34 over them, and make35 merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these36 two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. |
Re 11:11 | and after three and a half days rise again. |
Re 11:11 | And after three37 days and an half the Spirit38 of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great39 fear fell upon them which saw them. |
Re 11:12 EXALTATION-ABASEMENT | And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come40 up hither. And they41 ascended up to heaven in42 a cloud; and their43 enemies beheld them. |
Re 11:13 | And the same hour was there44 a great earthquake, and the tenth45 part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men46 seven thousand: and the remnant47 were affrighted, and gave48 glory to the God of heaven. |
Re 11:14 | The second woe is past. |
Re 11:14 | ¶49The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. |
Re 11:15 | The seventh trumpet sounds. |
Re 11:15 KINGDOM OF CHRIST MISSIONS, WORLD-WIDE MUTABILITY-IMMUTABILITY | And the seventh50 angel sounded; and there51 were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms52 of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he53 shall reign for ever and ever. |
Re 11:16 WORSHIPPERS, EXAMPLES OF | 54And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, |
Re 11:17 GRATITUDE-INGRATITUDE KINGDOM, SPIRITUAL MUTABILITY-IMMUTABILITY | Saying, We give55 thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty56, which57 art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast58 taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. |
Re 11:18 RIGHTEOUS-WICKED | And the nations59 were angry, and thy60 wrath is come, and the time61 of the dead, that they should be judged, and that62 thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them63 that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest64 destroy them which destroy65 the earth. |
Re 11:19 ARK EARTHQUAKES | And the temple66 of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark67 of his testament: and there were68 lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great69 hail. |
