Lu 19:1 Jericho | ¶ And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho1. |
Lu 19:2 ZACCHAEUS | And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief2 among the publicans, and he3 was rich. |
Lu 19:3 ATTRACTION, DIVINE | And he sought4 to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because5 he was little of stature. |
Lu 19:4 TREES | And he ran before, and climbed6 up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. |
Lu 19:5 BLINDNESS-VISION | And when Jesus came to the place, he looked8 up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus9, make haste, and come down; for10 to day I must abide at thy house. |
Lu 19:6 RECEPTION-REJECTION OF GOD AND TRUTH WORK AND WORKERS, RELIGIOUS | And he11 made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully12. |
Lu 19:7 BIGOTRY-CATHOLICITY CHARITABLENESS-UNCHARITABLENESS SINNER'S FRIEND, CHRIST THE SOCIAL LIFE | And when they saw it, they all13 murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. |
Lu 19:8 LIBERALITY-PARSIMONY-COVETOUSNESS LIBERALITY-PARSIMONY-COVETOUSNESS RESTITUTION | And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold14, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false15 accusation, I restore16 him fourfold. |
Lu 19:9 CONVERSION SALVATION-CONDEMNATION | And Jesus said unto him17, This day18 is salvation come to this house, forsomuch19 as he also is a son of Abraham. |

Lu 19:11 Jerusalem | ¶ And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought21 that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. |
Lu 19:12 | He said therefore, A certain22 nobleman went into a far23 country to24 receive for himself a kingdom, and25 to return. |
Lu 19:13 DUTY FUTURE, THE PROBATION, MAN'S EARTHLY LIFE A STEWARDSHIP-OWNERSHIP | And he called his26 ten servants, and delivered27 them ten pounds28, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. |
Lu 19:14 LOVE-HATRED SELF-WILL-SUBMISSION | 29But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. |
Lu 19:15 BUSINESS LIFE STEWARDSHIP-OWNERSHIP | And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having30 received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money31, that he32 might know how much every man had gained by trading. |
Lu 19:16 | Then came the first, saying, Lord33, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. |
Lu 19:17 EXALTATION-ABASEMENT FAITHFULNESS-UNFAITHFULNESS | And he said unto him, Well34, thou good servant: because thou hast been35 faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. |
Lu 19:18 | And the second came, saying, Lord, thy36 pound hath gained five pounds. |
Lu 19:19 | And he said likewise to him, Be37 thou also over five cities. |
Lu 19:20 FRUITFULNESS-UNFRUITFULNESS NAPKIN | ¶ And another came, saying, Lord38, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: |
Lu 19:21 | For I feared39 thee, because40 thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. |
Lu 19:22 SELF-JUSTIFICATION-SELF-CONDEMNATION | And he saith unto him, Out41 of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest42 that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: |
Lu 19:23 RESULTS DEMANDED | Wherefore43 then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury44? |
Lu 19:24 PRIVILEGES WITHDRAWN | And he said unto them that stood by, Take45 from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. |
Lu 19:25 | (And they said unto him, Lord46, he hath ten pounds.) |
Lu 19:26 | For I say unto you, That unto47 every one which hath shall be given; and from48 him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. |
Lu 19:27 | 49But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. |
Lu 19:28 | Christ rides into Jerusalem with triumph; |
Lu 19:28 Jerusalem | ¶ And when he had thus spoken, he went50 before, ascending up to Jerusalem. |
Lu 19:29 BETHPHAGE Bethany 1 Olivet Bethphage | And it came to pass, when51 he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany52, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, |
Lu 19:30 | ¶53Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. |
Lu 19:31 | And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord54 hath need of him. |
Lu 19:32 | And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. |
Lu 19:33 | And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? |
Lu 19:34 | 55And they said, The Lord hath need of him. |
Lu 19:35 HONOUR-DISHONOUR | And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast56 their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. |
Lu 19:36 | 57And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. |
Lu 19:37 GRATITUDE-INGRATITUDE WORKS OF CHRIST, MIGHTY Mount of Olives | And when he was come nigh, even now at58 the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole59 multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; |
Lu 19:38 | Saying, Blessed60 be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace61 in heaven, and glory62 in the highest. |
Lu 19:39 | And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke63 thy disciples. |
Lu 19:40 | ¶64And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. |

Lu 19:42 OPPORTUNITY | Saying, If66 thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this67 thy day, the things68 which belong unto thy peace! but69 now they are hid from thine eyes. |
Lu 19:43 JERUSALEM NATION, THE TRENCHES | For the days70 shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast71 a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, |
Lu 19:44 DAY OF THE LORD | And shall lay72 thee even with the ground, and thy children73 within thee; and they shall not leave74 in thee one stone upon another; because75 thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. |

Lu 19:45 | And he went76 into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold77 therein, and them that bought; |

Lu 19:47 | teaching daily in it. The rulers seek to destroy him, but fear the people. |
Lu 19:47 PLOTTING | And he taught79 daily in the temple. But the chief priests80 and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, |
Lu 19:48 | And could81 not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him82. |
