Lu 11:1 PRAYER RECEPTION-REJECTION OF GOD AND TRUTH RECEPTION-REJECTION OF GOD AND TRUTH | ¶ And it came to pass, that,1 as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach2 us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. |
Lu 11:2 HEAVEN LORD'S PRAYER PRAYER | And he said unto them, When3 ye pray, say, Our4 Father which5 art in heaven, Hallowed6 be thy name. Thy kingdom7 come. Thy will8 be done, as in heaven, so in earth. |

Lu 11:4 FORGIVENESS RESTRAINTS, DIVINE | And forgive us11 our sins; for12 we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead13 us not into temptation; but14 deliver us from evil. |
Lu 11:5 | 15And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; |
Lu 11:6 LIMITATIONS, HUMAN | For a friend of mine in his journey16 is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? |
Lu 11:7 | And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble17 me not: the door18 is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. |
Lu 11:8 PRAYER | I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of19 his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. |
Lu 11:9 PRAYER PRAYER PROMISES, DIVINE | And I say20 unto you, Ask21, and it shall be given you; seek22, and ye shall find; knock23, and it shall be opened unto you. |
Lu 11:10 SEEING GOD | ¶24For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. |
Lu 11:11 | assuring us that God will give all good things to them that ask him. |
Lu 11:11 | If a son25 shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? |
Lu 11:12 EGGS SCORPIONS | Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer26 him a scorpion? |
Lu 11:13 BLESSINGS-AFFLICTIONS HOLY SPIRIT | If ye then, being27 evil, know28 how29 to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly30 Father give the31 Holy Spirit to them that ask him? |
Lu 11:14 | He, casting out a dumb devil, rebukes the blasphemous Pharisees; |
Lu 11:14 CHRIST, LIBERATOR MIRACLES | ¶32And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered. |
Lu 11:15 BEELZEBUB BLASPHEMY, PROFANITY, CURSING | But some of them said, He33 casteth out devils through Beelzebub34 the chief of the devils. |
Lu 11:16 CURIOSITY TRIED, CHRIST, BY HIS ENEMIES | 35And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven. |
Lu 11:17 DIVISIONS WEAKEN KNOWLEDGE-IGNORANCE | But he, knowing36 their thoughts, said unto them, Every37 kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. |
Lu 11:18 | If Satan38 also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say39 that I cast out devils through Beelzebub. |
Lu 11:19 | And if I by40 Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall41 they be your judges. |
Lu 11:20 FINGER OF GOD | ¶ But if I with the finger42 of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom43 of God is come upon you. |
Lu 11:21 | When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: |
Lu 11:22 ARMOUR | 45But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils. |
Lu 11:23 NO NEUTRALITY POSSIBLE IN RELATION TO SPIRITUAL THINGS | 46He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. |
Lu 11:24 DETERIORATION-DEVELOPMENT | When the unclean47 spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh48 through dry49 places, seeking50 rest; and finding none, he saith, I will51 return unto my house whence I came out. |
Lu 11:25 DETERIORATION-DEVELOPMENT | And when he cometh, he findeth52 it swept and garnished. |
Lu 11:26 DETERIORATION-DEVELOPMENT DETERIORATION-DEVELOPMENT EVIL SPIRITS, MANY | Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more53 wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the54 last state of that man is worse than the first. |

Lu 11:29 JONAH OR JONAS | ¶ And when57 the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is58 an evil generation: they59 seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. |
Lu 11:30 Nineveh | ¶60For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. |
Lu 11:31 GREATNESS South | The queen61 of the south shall rise62 up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater63 than Solomon is here. |
Lu 11:32 NINEVEH Nineveh | The men64 of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater65 than Jonas is here. |
Lu 11:33 LIFE CONSPICUOUS | No man, when he66 hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but67 on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the68 light. |
Lu 11:34 BLINDNESS-VISION | The light of69 the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single70, thy whole body also is full of light; but71 when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. |
Lu 11:35 INVITATIONS-WARNINGS | 72Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. |
Lu 11:36 | If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole73 shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle74 doth give thee light. |
Lu 11:37 | and reprehends the outward shew of holiness in the Pharisees, scribes, and lawyers. |
Lu 11:37 | ¶75And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat. |

Lu 11:39 CORRUPTION RAPACITY WISDOM-FOLLY | And the Lord said unto him, Now77 do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but78 your inward part is full of ravening79 and wickedness. |
Lu 11:40 WISDOM-FOLLY | ¶ Ye fools80, did81 not he that made that which is without make that which is within also? |
Lu 11:41 LIBERALITY-PARSIMONY-COVETOUSNESS | But rather82 give alms of such things as ye have83; and, behold, all things are clean unto you. |
Lu 11:42 SIN-SAVIOUR WOES | But woe84 unto you, Pharisees! for85 ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass86 over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not87 to leave the other undone. |
Lu 11:43 SELF-ABASEMENT-SELF-EXALTATION | Woe unto you, Pharisees! for88 ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets. |
Lu 11:44 | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for89 ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them. |
Lu 11:45 | Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou90 reproachest us also. |
Lu 11:46 LAWYERS | And he said, Woe91 unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves92 touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. |
Lu 11:47 | Woe unto you! for93 ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. |
Lu 11:48 | Truly ye bear94 witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for95 they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres. |
Lu 11:49 | Therefore also said the wisdom96 of God, I will97 send them prophets and apostles, and some98 of them they shall slay and persecute: |
Lu 11:50 BLOOD | ¶ That the blood99 of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may100 be required of this generation; |
Lu 11:51 SUFFERING FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE ZACHARIAS | From the blood of Abel101 unto the blood of Zacharias102, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall103 be required of this generation. |
Lu 11:52 HELPS-HINDRANCES | Woe unto you, lawyers! for104 ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered105. |
Lu 11:53 | And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge106 him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak107 of many things: |
Lu 11:54 SNARES LAID BY THE WICKED | Laying wait for him, and seeking108 to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him. |
