¶ And I, brethren, when¹ I came to you, came not with² excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony³ of God.

For I determined not⁴ to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

⁵And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

And my speech⁶ and my preaching was not⁷ with enticing⁸ words of man's wisdom, but⁹ in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

That your faith should not stand¹⁰ in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

¶ Howbeit we speak wisdom among them¹¹ that are perfect: yet not¹² the wisdom of this world, nor of the¹³ princes of this world, that come¹⁴ to nought:

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even¹⁵ the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto¹⁶ our glory:

Which none¹⁷ of the princes of this world knew: for¹⁸ had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord¹⁹ of glory.

But as it is written, Eye²⁰ hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things²¹ which God hath prepared for them²² that love him.

¶ But God²³ hath revealed them unto us by²⁴ his Spirit: for the Spirit²⁵ searcheth all things, yea, the deep²⁶ things of God.

For what²⁷ man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even²⁸ so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Now we have received, not²⁹ the spirit of the world, but³⁰ the spirit which is of God; that³¹ we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Which things also we speak, not³² in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but³³ which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing³⁴ spiritual things with spiritual.

But the natural man³⁶ receiveth³⁷ not the things³⁸ of the Spirit of God: for they³⁹ are foolishness unto him: neither⁴⁰ can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

But he that⁴¹ is spiritual judgeth⁴² all things, yet⁴³ he himself is judged⁴⁴ of no man.

For who⁴⁵ hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may⁴⁶ instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
