1Co 15:1 | By Christ's resurrection, |
1Co 15:1 MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | ¶ Moreover, brethren, I declare1 unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also2 ye have received, and wherein ye stand3; |
1Co 15:2 SALVATION-CONDEMNATION | By which also ye are4 saved, if ye keep in memory5 what I preached6 unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. |
1Co 15:3 SIN-SAVIOUR SIN-SAVIOUR | For I delivered7 unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ8 died for our sins according9 to the scriptures; |
1Co 15:4 MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | And that11 he was buried, and that he rose12 again the third day according13 to the scriptures: |
1Co 15:5 MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | And that14 he was seen of Cephas15, then16 of the twelve: |
1Co 15:6 LIFE-DEATH MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | After that, he was17 seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are18 fallen asleep. |
1Co 15:7 JAMES JAMES MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | After that, he was seen of James; then19 of all the apostles. |
1Co 15:8 MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | And last of all he was20 seen of me also, as of one born out of due time21. |
1Co 15:9 APOSTLESHIP OF PAUL MEMORIES, PAINFUL SELF-ABASEMENT-SELF-EXALTATION | For I am the least22 of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because23 I persecuted the church of God. |
1Co 15:10 GRACE, DIVINE | ¶ But by24 the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace25 which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I26 laboured more abundantly than they all: yet27 not I, but the grace of God which was with me. |
1Co 15:11 | 28Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. |
1Co 15:12 | he proves the necessity of our resurrection, against all such as deny the resurrection of the body. |
1Co 15:12 FAITH-UNBELIEF MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | ¶ Now if29 Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how30 say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? |
1Co 15:13 | 31But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: |
1Co 15:14 | 32And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. |
1Co 15:15 | Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have34 testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom35 he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. |
1Co 15:16 | For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: |
1Co 15:17 MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | And if Christ be not raised, your36 faith is vain; ye are37 yet in your sins. |
1Co 15:18 | Then they also which are fallen38 asleep in Christ are perished. |
1Co 15:19 | If in this39 life only we have hope40 in Christ, we are of all41 men most miserable. |
1Co 15:20 STEWARDSHIP-OWNERSHIP | ¶ But now42 is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits43 of them that slept. |
1Co 15:21 | The fruit, |
1Co 15:21 FALL OF ADAM | For since by man came death44, by man came also45 the resurrection of the dead. |
1Co 15:22 ADAM MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | For as in Adam46 all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. |
1Co 15:23 | But every47 man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they48 that are Christ's at his coming. |
1Co 15:24 BATTLE OF LIFE | Then cometh49 the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom50 to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. |
1Co 15:25 SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD | 51For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. |
1Co 15:26 FUTURE, THE | 52The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. |
1Co 15:27 | 53For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. |
1Co 15:28 | And when all things54 shall be subdued unto him, then55 shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all56. |
1Co 15:29 | Else what57 shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? |
1Co 15:30 | ¶58And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? |
1Co 15:31 | I protest59 by your60 rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die61 daily. |
1Co 15:32 EPHESUS NATION, THE SELF-INDULGENCE-SELF-DENIAL Ephesus | If after62 the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus64, what65 advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let66 us eat and drink; for to morrow we die. |
1Co 15:33 ASSOCIATION-SEPARATION INVITATIONS-WARNINGS TEMPTATION | Be67 not deceived: evil68 communications corrupt good manners. |
1Co 15:34 RIGHTEOUSNESS-UNRIGHTEOUSNESS SIN-SAVIOUR SLEEP-WAKEFULNESS | Awake69 to righteousness, and sin not70; for some71 have not the knowledge of God: I speak73 this to your shame. |
1Co 15:35 | and the manner thereof; |
1Co 15:35 | ¶ But some man will say, How74 are the dead raised up? and with75 what body do they come? |
1Co 15:36 LIFE OUT OF DEATH | Thou fool76, that77 which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: |
1Co 15:37 | And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: |
1Co 15:38 | 78But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. |
1Co 15:39 | 79All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. |
1Co 15:40 | ¶ There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. |
1Co 15:41 STARS | 80There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. |
1Co 15:42 CORRUPTION | So also is81 the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption82; it is83 raised in incorruption: |
1Co 15:43 | It is sown in dishonour84; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness85; it is raised in power86: |
1Co 15:44 BODY, SPIRITUAL | It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual87 body. |
1Co 15:45 TITLES AND NAMES | And so it is written, The first88 man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening89 spirit. |
1Co 15:46 AFTERWARDS | Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural90; and afterward that which is spiritual. |
1Co 15:47 HEAVENLY ORIGIN, CHRIST'S | The first91 man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord92 from heaven. |
1Co 15:48 | As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy93: and as94 is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. |
1Co 15:49 BEAUTY-DISFIGUREMENT BODY, SPIRITUAL | And as95 we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall96 also bear the image of the heavenly. |
1Co 15:50 ADMISSION-EXCLUSION KINGDOM, SPIRITUAL | ¶ Now this97 I say, brethren, that98 flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. |
1Co 15:51 | and of the changing of them that shall be found alive at the last day. |
1Co 15:51 MYSTERIES-REVELATIONS SLEEP-WAKEFULNESS | ¶ Behold, I shew99 you a mystery; We shall not100 all sleep, but we shall all be changed101, |
1Co 15:52 | In a moment102, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last103 trump: for104 the trumpet shall sound, and the dead105 shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. |
1Co 15:53 MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | For this corruptible must put106 on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. |
1Co 15:54 FUTURE, THE MORTALITY-IMMORTALITY | So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal107 shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death108 is swallowed up in victory. |
1Co 15:55 GRAVE, THE | O death109, where is thy sting110? O grave111, where is thy victory112? |
1Co 15:56 | The sting of113 death is sin; and the strength of114 sin is the law. |
1Co 15:57 GRATITUDE-INGRATITUDE | But thanks115 be to God, which giveth116 us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. |
1Co 15:58 PROMISES, DIVINE STEADFASTNESS-INSTABILITY TITLES AND NAMES WORK AND WORKERS, RELIGIOUS WORK AND WORKERS, RELIGIOUS | ¶ Therefore117, my beloved brethren, be ye118 stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding119 in the work120 of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know121 that your labour is not122 in vain in the123 Lord. |
