Le 19:1 | ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, |
Le 19:2 HOLINESS | Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall1 be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy. |
Le 19:3 YOUNG PEOPLE | Ye shall fear2 every man his mother, and his father, and keep3 my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God. |
Le 19:4 | Turn ye not unto4 idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods5: I am the LORD your God. |
Le 19:5 OFFERINGS | And if ye offer a sacrifice6 of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall7 offer it at your own will8. |
Le 19:6 | 9It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire. |
Le 19:7 | And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable10; it shall11 not be accepted. |
Le 19:8 INNOCENCE-GUILT REVERENCE-IRREVERENCE | Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear12 his iniquity, because he hath profaned13 the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul14 shall be cut off15 from among his people. |
Le 19:9 AGRICULTURE-HORTICULTURE | And when ye reap the harvest16 of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest. |
Le 19:10 AGRICULTURE-HORTICULTURE AGRICULTURE-HORTICULTURE AGRICULTURE-HORTICULTURE | ¶ And thou shalt not glean17 thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt18 leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God. |
Le 19:11 TRUTH-FALSEHOOD | ¶ Ye shall not19 steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one20 to another. |
Le 19:12 BLASPHEMY, PROFANITY, CURSING COURTS | And ye shall21 not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane22 the name of thy God: I am the LORD. |
Le 19:13 BUSINESS LIFE BUSINESS LIFE BUSINESS LIFE | Thou shalt not23 defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages24 of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning. |
Le 19:14 BLINDNESS-VISION DEAFNESS-HEARING | Thou shalt not curse25 the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear26 thy God: I am the LORD. |
Le 19:15 COURTS JUSTICE-INJUSTICE | 27Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour. |
Le 19:16 SILENCE-SPEECH | Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer28 among thy people: neither shalt thou stand29 against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD. |
Le 19:17 LOVE-HATRED | Thou shalt not hate30 thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke31 thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him32. |
Le 19:18 MEEKNESS-RETALIATION SOCIAL LIFE | Thou shalt not avenge33, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt34 love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. |
Le 19:19 WOOL | ¶ Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender35 with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled36 seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee. |
Le 19:20 LIBERTY-BONDAGE | ¶ And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband37, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. |
Le 19:21 OFFERINGS | 38And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering. |
Le 19:22 | And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin39 which he hath done shall be forgiven him. |
Le 19:23 AGRICULTURE-HORTICULTURE TREES | And when40 ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised41: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of. |
Le 19:24 | But in the fourth year all the42 fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal43. |
Le 19:25 | 44And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God. |
Le 19:26 | Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood45: neither shall ye use46 enchantment, nor47 observe times. |
Le 19:27 BEARD | 48Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard. |
Le 19:28 BODY, HUMAN | Ye shall not make any cuttings49 in your flesh for the dead, nor print50 any marks upon you: I am the LORD. |
Le 19:29 WOMEN | Do not prostitute51 thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. |
Le 19:30 REVERENCE-IRREVERENCE | ¶ Ye shall keep52 my sabbaths, and reverence53 my sanctuary: I am the LORD. |
Le 19:31 MAGIC | 54Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. |
Le 19:32 YOUNG PEOPLE | 55Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD. |
Le 19:33 | And if56 a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him57. |
Le 19:34 SOCIAL LIFE Egypt | 58But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. |
Le 19:35 BUSINESS LIFE | Ye shall do no unrighteousness59 in judgment, in meteyard60, in weight, or in measure. |
Le 19:36 BUSINESS LIFE BUSINESS LIFE EPHAH HIN Egypt | Just balances61, just weights62, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt. |
Le 19:37 | 63Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD. |
