¶¹At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

Hear attentively² the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

He³ directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning⁴ unto the ends of the earth.

After it a voice⁵ roareth: he thundereth with the voice⁶ of his excellency; and he will⁷ not stay them when his voice is heard.

God thundereth⁸ marvellously with his voice; great⁹ things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

¶ For he¹⁰ saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small¹¹ rain, and to the great¹² rain of his strength.

He¹³ sealeth up the hand of every man; that¹⁴ all men may know his work.

¹⁵Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

Out of the south¹⁶ cometh the whirlwind¹⁷: and cold out of the north¹⁸.

¶¹⁹By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

Also by watering he wearieth²⁰ the thick cloud: he scattereth²¹ his bright cloud²²:

And it²³ is turned round about by his counsels: that²⁴ they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.

He causeth it to come, whether²⁵ for correction²⁶, or for his land, or for mercy²⁷.

¶ Hearken unto this, O Job: stand²⁸ still, and consider²⁹ the wondrous works of God.

Dost³⁰ thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light³¹ of his cloud to shine?

Dost thou know the balancings³² of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect³³ in knowledge?

How thy garments are warm, when he³⁴ quieteth the earth by the south wind?

Hast thou with him spread³⁵ out the sky, which is strong, and as³⁶ a molten looking glass?

Teach³⁷ us what we³⁸ shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

¶ Shall it³⁹ be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely⁴⁰ he shall be swallowed up.

¶⁴¹And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

Fair⁴² weather cometh out of the north: with⁴³ God is terrible majesty.

Touching the Almighty, we⁴⁴ cannot find him out: he is excellent⁴⁵ in power, and in judgment⁴⁶, and in plenty of justice: he will⁴⁷ not afflict.

Men do therefore fear⁴⁸ him: he⁴⁹ respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
