Job 27:1 | ¶ Moreover Job1 continued2 his parable, and said, |
Job 27:2 | As God liveth3, who hath taken4 away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul5; |
Job 27:3 LIFE-DEATH NOSTRILS | All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God6 is in my nostrils; |
Job 27:4 | 7My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit. |
Job 27:5 | God forbid that I should justify8 you: till I die I will not9 remove mine integrity from me. |
Job 27:6 STEADFASTNESS-INSTABILITY | My righteousness I hold fast,10 and will not let it go: my heart11 shall not reproach me so long as I live12. |
Job 27:7 | ¶13Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous. |
Job 27:8 | The hypocrite is without hope. |
Job 27:8 EXPECTATION-DISAPPOINTMENT | 14For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul? |
Job 27:9 | Will God15 hear his cry16 when trouble cometh upon him? |
Job 27:10 | ¶ Will he delight17 himself in the Almighty? will he always18 call upon God? |
Job 27:11 | The blessings which the wicked have are turned into curses. |
Job 27:11 | ¶ I will teach19 you by the hand20 of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal. |
Job 27:12 | Behold, all ye yourselves21 have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether22 vain? |
Job 27:13 PROFIT AND LOSS RIGHTEOUS-WICKED | This is the portion23 of a wicked man with God, and the heritage24 of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty. |
Job 27:14 HEREDITY | If his children25 be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring26 shall not be satisfied with bread. |
Job 27:15 | Those27 that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows28 shall not weep. |
Job 27:16 POVERTY-RICHES | Though he heap up29 silver as the dust, and prepare raiment30 as the clay; |
Job 27:17 EXPECTATION-DISAPPOINTMENT POVERTY-RICHES | He may prepare it, but the just31 shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver. |
Job 27:18 INSECTS WORLDLINESS-UNWORLDLINESS | He buildeth his house as a moth32, and as a booth33 that the keeper maketh. |
Job 27:19 | The rich man shall lie34 down, but he shall not be gathered35: he openeth36 his eyes, and he is not37. |
Job 27:20 | ¶ Terrors38 take hold on him as waters, a tempest39 stealeth him away in the night. |
Job 27:21 METEOROLOGY | The east wind40 carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm41 hurleth him out of his place. |
Job 27:22 | For God42 shall cast upon him, and not spare43: he would fain flee44 out of his hand. |
Job 27:23 HONOUR-DISHONOUR | Men shall clap45 their hands at him, and shall hiss him46 out of his place. |
