Ge 8:1 | God remembers Noah, and assuages the waters. |
Ge 8:1 ARK MEMORY-OBLIVION METEOROLOGY NOAH NOAH | ¶ And God remembered1 Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle2 that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind3 to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged; |
Ge 8:2 | The fountains4 also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain5 from heaven was restrained; |
Ge 8:3 | And the waters returned from off the earth continually6: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. |
Ge 8:4 | The ark rests on Ararat. |
Ge 8:4 ARARAT MOUNTAINS AND HILLS MOUNTAINS AND HILLS Ararat | ¶ And the ark7 rested in the seventh month8, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat9. |
Ge 8:5 | And the waters decreased continually10 until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen. |
Ge 8:6 | Noah sends forth a raven and then a dove. |
Ge 8:6 PERIODS AND NUMBERS | ¶ And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window11 of the ark which he had made: |
Ge 8:7 BIRDS | And he sent forth a raven12, which went forth to and fro13, until the waters were dried up from off the earth. |
Ge 8:8 | Also he sent forth a dove14 from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; |
Ge 8:9 | But the dove found15 no rest for the sole of her foot, and she16 returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her17 in unto him into the ark. |
Ge 8:10 | ¶ And he stayed18 yet other seven19 days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; |
Ge 8:11 | And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive20 leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. |
Ge 8:12 | And he21 stayed yet other seven22 days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more. |
Ge 8:13 | Noah, being commanded, goes forth from the ark. |
Ge 8:13 | ¶ And it came to pass in the six23 hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry. |
Ge 8:14 | 24And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried. |
Ge 8:15 | ¶ And God spake unto Noah, saying, |
Ge 8:16 ARK | 25Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee. |
Ge 8:17 | Bring26 forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed27 abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. |
Ge 8:18 | 28And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him: |
Ge 8:19 | Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds29, went forth out of the ark. |
Ge 8:20 | He builds an altar, and offers sacrifice, which God accepts, and promises to curse the earth no more. |
Ge 8:20 ALTARS NOAH NOAH | ¶ And Noah builded30 an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast31, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt32 offerings on the altar. |
Ge 8:21 MIND, CARNAL-SPIRITUAL SWEET SAVOUR | And the LORD smelled33 a sweet savour34; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for35 man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither36 will I again smite any more every thing living, as I37 have done. |
Ge 8:22 AGRICULTURE-HORTICULTURE AGRICULTURE-HORTICULTURE DAY EARTH METEOROLOGY SEASONS, THE SPRING SUMMER | While the earth remaineth38, seedtime39 and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day40 and night shall not cease. |
