Ge 15:1 ABRAHAM OR ABRAM BATTLE OF LIFE MYSTERIES-REVELATIONS REWARD-PUNISHMENT | ¶ After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in1 a vision, saying, Fear2 not, Abram: I am thy shield3, and thy4 exceeding great reward. |
Ge 15:2 ELIEZER HOME Damascus | ¶ And Abram said, Lord GOD, what5 wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless6, and the7 steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? |
Ge 15:3 HEIRS HOME | And Abram said, Behold,8 to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born9 in my house is mine heir. |
Ge 15:4 | God promises him a son, and a multiplying of his seed. |
Ge 15:4 SARAH OR SARAI | And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come10 forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. |
Ge 15:5 POSTERITY PROMISED | And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell11 the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So12 shall thy seed be. |
Ge 15:6 | Abram is justified by faith. |
Ge 15:6 JUSTIFICATION | And he believed13 in the LORD; and he counted14 it to him for righteousness. |
Ge 15:7 | Canaan is promised again, and confirmed by a sign, and a vision, prophetic of the condition of his posterity till brought out of Egypt. |
Ge 15:7 CANAAN, LAND OF UR Ur | ¶ And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought15 thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give16 thee this land to inherit it. |
Ge 15:8 FAITH-UNBELIEF | 17And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? |
Ge 15:9 ANIMALS ANIMALS ANIMALS BIRDS BIRDS | 18And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. |
Ge 15:10 | ¶ And he took unto him all these, and divided them19 in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds20 divided he not. |
Ge 15:11 | And when the fowls21 came down upon the carcases, Abram22 drove them away. |
Ge 15:12 SLEEP-WAKEFULNESS | ¶ And when the sun was going down, a deep23 sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror24 of great darkness fell upon him. |
Ge 15:13 | And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy25 seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four26 hundred years; |
Ge 15:14 | And also that27 nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with28 great substance. |
Ge 15:15 LONG LIFE | And thou29 shalt go to thy fathers in peace30; thou shalt be buried31 in a good32 old age. |
Ge 15:16 AMORITES EVIL FULNESS PROBATION, MAN'S EARTHLY LIFE A SIN-SAVIOUR | But in the33 fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites34 is not35 yet full. |
Ge 15:17 | ¶ And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking36 furnace, and a burning lamp37 that passed38 between those pieces. |
Ge 15:18 CANAAN, LAND OF EUPHRATES POSTERITY PROMISED Egypt Euphrates | In the same day the LORD made39 a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy40 seed have I given this land, from41 the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates42: |
Ge 15:19 KENITES | The Kenites43, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, |
Ge 15:20 PERIZZITES | ¶ And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims44, |
Ge 15:21 | And the Amorites45, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites46, and the Jebusites. |
