Ex 34:1 TABLES OF STONE | ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew1 thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will2 write upon these tables the words3 that were in the first tables, which4 thou brakest. |
Ex 34:2 Mount Sinai | And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top5 of the mount. |
Ex 34:3 | 6And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount. |
Ex 34:4 EARLY RISING Mount Sinai | And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone. |
Ex 34:5 | The name of the LORD proclaimed. |
Ex 34:5 CLOUD | ¶ And the LORD descended7 in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name8 of the LORD. |

Ex 34:7 HEREDITY HOME MERCIFULNESS-UNMERCIFULNESS | Keeping15 mercy for thousands, forgiving16 iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty;17 visiting18 the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. |

Ex 34:8 PRAYER WORSHIPPERS, EXAMPLES OF | 19And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped. |
Ex 34:9 SALVATION-CONDEMNATION | And he said, If now20 I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord21, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked22 people; and pardon23 our iniquity and our sin, and take us24 for thine inheritance. |
Ex 34:10 | God makes a covenant with them, repeating certain duties of the first table. |
Ex 34:10 | ¶ And he said, Behold, I make25 a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels26, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible27 thing that I will do with thee. |
Ex 34:11 CANAANITES | Observe28 thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive29 out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. |
Ex 34:12 ASSOCIATION-SEPARATION TEMPTATION | Take heed30 to thyself, lest31 thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: |
Ex 34:13 AWAKENINGS AND RELIGIOUS REFORMS | But ye shall32 destroy their altars, break their images33, and cut down their groves: |
Ex 34:14 JEALOUSY | For thou shalt worship34 no other god: for the LORD, whose35 name is Jealous, is a jealous God36: |
Ex 34:15 | Lest thou make37 a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring38 after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee,39 and thou eat40 of his sacrifice; |
Ex 34:16 | 41And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods. |
Ex 34:17 FALSE WORSHIP | 42Thou shalt make thee no molten gods. |
Ex 34:18 Egypt | ¶43The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt. |
Ex 34:19 STEWARDSHIP-OWNERSHIP | All that openeth44 the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male]. |
Ex 34:20 | ¶ But the firstling45 of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb46: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none47 shall appear before me empty. |
Ex 34:21 REST-UNREST SABBATH | Six48 days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing49 time and in harvest thou shalt rest. |
Ex 34:22 FEASTS, JEWISH | And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks50, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end51. |
Ex 34:23 | Thrice52 in the year shall all your men children appear before the Lord GOD, the God53 of Israel. |
Ex 34:24 CANAAN, LAND OF ENLARGEMENT | For I will54 cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge55 thy borders: neither shall any man desire56 thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year. |
Ex 34:25 | Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven57; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left58 unto the morning. |
Ex 34:26 | The first59 of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe60 a kid in his mother's milk. |
Ex 34:27 | And the LORD said unto Moses, Write61 thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have62 made a covenant with thee and with Israel. |
Ex 34:28 | Moses, after forty days in the mount, comes down with the tables. |
Ex 34:28 DECALOGUE, THE MOSES PERIODS AND NUMBERS SELF-INDULGENCE-SELF-DENIAL | ¶ And he was there with the LORD forty days63 and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote64 upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments65. |

Ex 34:30 LIGHT-DARKNESS | ¶ And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid70 to come nigh him. |
Ex 34:31 | And Moses called71 unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked72 with them. |
Ex 34:32 LAWGIVER Mount Sinai | And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave73 them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai. |
Ex 34:33 VAIL, OR VEIL | And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail74 on his face. |
Ex 34:34 | But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took75 the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded. |
Ex 34:35 MOSES | 76And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him. |
