Ex 20:1 DECALOGUE, THE | ¶1And God spake all these words, saying, |
Ex 20:2 Egypt | I am the LORD2 thy God, which have brought3 thee out of the4 land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage5. |
Ex 20:3 | 6Thou shalt have no other gods before me. |
Ex 20:4 FALSE WORSHIP | 7Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: |
Ex 20:5 HOME JEALOUSY REWARD-PUNISHMENT SIN-SAVIOUR | Thou shalt not bow down8 thyself to them, nor serve them: for I9 the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting10 the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them11 that hate me; |

Ex 20:7 BLASPHEMY, PROFANITY, CURSING | Thou shalt not take14 the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless15 that taketh his name in vain. |
Ex 20:8 SABBATH | 16Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. |

Ex 20:11 CREATOR | 22For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. |

Ex 20:17 LIBERALITY-PARSIMONY-COVETOUSNESS | Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house29, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife30, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's31. |
Ex 20:18 | The people are afraid, but Moses comforts them. |
Ex 20:18 METEOROLOGY | ¶ And all32 the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed33, and stood afar off. |
Ex 20:19 MEDIATOR | And they said unto Moses, Speak thou34 with us, and we will hear: but let not35 God speak with us, lest we die. |

Ex 20:23 | 42Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. |
Ex 20:24 ALTARS OFFERINGS | An altar43 of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt44 offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places45 where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee46. |
Ex 20:25 | And47 if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone48: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it. |
Ex 20:26 | Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness49 be not discovered thereon. |
