Am 2:1 Edom Moab | ¶ Thus saith the LORD; For three1 transgressions of Moab2, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because3 he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime: |
Am 2:2 Moab Kerioth | But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult5, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet: |

Am 2:7 LIBERALITY-PARSIMONY-COVETOUSNESS | That pant16 after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn17 aside the way of the meek: and a18 man and his father will go in unto the same maid19, to profane my holy name: |
Am 2:8 BUSINESS LIFE | And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid20 to pledge by21 every altar, and they drink22 the wine of the condemned23 in the house of their god. |

Am 2:9 AMORITES | ¶ Yet destroyed I the24 Amorite before them, whose25 height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed26 his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath. |
Am 2:10 Egypt | ¶ Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led28 you forty years through the wilderness, to possess29 the land of the Amorite. |
Am 2:11 SELF-INDULGENCE-SELF-DENIAL | And I raised30 up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites31. Is it32 not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD. |
Am 2:12 HELPS-HINDRANCES | But ye gave34 the Nazarites wine35 to drink; and commanded36 the prophets, saying, Prophesy not. |
Am 2:13 | Behold,37 I am pressed38 under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves. |
Am 2:14 | Therefore the flight39 shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself40: |
Am 2:15 | Neither41 shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself:42 neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself. |
Am 2:16 | And he that is courageous43 among the mighty shall flee44 away naked in that day, saith the LORD. |
