2Ch 27:1 Jotham reigning well, prospers. 2Ch 27:1 •JOTHAM Jerusalem ¶ Jotham was twenty and five1 years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jerushah, the daughter of Zadok. 2Ch 27:2 •HOME And he did3 that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah did: howbeit he entered not4 into the temple of the LORD. And the people5 did yet corruptly. 2Ch 27:3 •OPHEL Ophel He built the high gate6 of the house of the LORD, and on the wall of Ophel7 he built much. 2Ch 27:4 •CASTLES OR FORTS •FORESTS Moreover he built cities8 in the mountains9 of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers10. 2Ch 27:5 He subdues the Ammonites. 2Ch 27:5 •TALENTS He fought also with the king of the Ammonites11, and prevailed against them. And the children of Ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand12 measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much13 did the children of Ammon pay unto him, both the second year, and the third. 2Ch 27:6 •JOTHAM So Jotham14 became mighty, because he prepared15 his ways before the LORD his God. 2Ch 27:7 His reign and death; Ahaz succeeds him. 2Ch 27:7 Now the rest16 of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, lo, they are written17 in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. 2Ch 27:8 Jerusalem He was18 five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. 2Ch 27:9 •JOTHAM And Jotham19 slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
