hp-parisc to m68k cross compilation problem

I just did this about a month ago, although I used egcs and m68k-elf
(using some custom patches). My frantic calls for help are on the egcs
mailing list archive, but one thing comes to mind.
'sed' under HPUX-10.20 is apparently broken. There's allegedly a patch
available, but I couldn't figure out how to navigate HP's support site
(it needed some sort of registration info), and getting our support
people to install something like that is a struggle. In the end it was
easier to just install the GNU sed. This fixed some problems I had
where the makefile didn't look like it was created properly.
