Reference Texts

There frequently arises the need to consult the Bible when studying your own doctrine. When doing deeper studies, historical texts about church history and the early martyrs provide much information. When witnessing to people of different beliefs, it is often informative to consult the sacred writing of those religions to better understand where they are coming from. The CCAT Archives at the University of Pennsylvania have many good texts of this nature, and they are search engine capable.


It is frequently helpful to be sure one knows all the applicable definitions of a word in the scriptures. The Greek and Hebrew lexicons can help, but the English definitions are also important. The Hypertext Webster Interface is a useful online resource for this purpose.
