Truth

" Sanctify them through Thy Truth; Thy Word is Truth"

[John 17:17 KJV]

Truth is transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality. What?!? Truth is, the way it is. It doesn't matter where you are from, or who you are. It doesn't matter what you own or don't own. Truth is a plumb line that exposes the corners we cut. It is the light that illuminates the darkest corners and brings everything into account. It can make a person very uncomfortable. But when we face the Truth we find that the razor straight line will hold us up and the intense Light is a source or warmth and guidance for our lives. "..know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free"(John 8:32)

Reliable. What a quality! It means : to have confidence based on experience; giving the same result on successive tries.( can I get a witness!) Prove Me( Mal 3:10), the Lord offers to us the opportunity to gain experience in trusting Him. Everybody has to have a first time. He understands your fear and is ready to catch you when you take that leap of faith! "It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law(Word) to fail"(Luke 16:17)

Unchangeable and immutable. The Truth of God remains as time and fashion change the face of mankind with each generation. Man has built, wiped out and built again civilizations and monuments acclaiming those civilizations as the greatest and best. Finally dust and decay overtake them all, the last like the first. Through that time though, the Word of God stands sure. Jesus warned His disciples of coming trying and testing times. Times when they would need an anchor to hold on to and that would hold onto them, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my Word shall not pass away"(Matt 24:35)

Turn around. The voice of Jesus is calling to us every day. Every time we hear or read or meditate on the Word of Life, He is calling to us to turn around and see Him. To turn from sin, turn from pride, turn from busyness, to just turn around and look up. The arm of the Lord is not shortened because of our stubbornness or our self condemnation . "Turn you at my reproof; behold I will pour out my Spirit unto you, I will make known my words to you"(Prov 1:23)

His Word. There was a time when giving your word was a binding contract. Modern and enlightened man has changed that with situation ethics and a different understanding. So then cynicism is like a national cancer and trust is withheld. Jesus gave us His Word on it. You can trust Him and His promises. He said, " If it were not so, I would have told you... I go to prepare a place for YOU,,,,that where I am, there ye may be also"(John 14:2,3)
