My dear brethren and sistren in Jesus Christ:
Sorry, brethren, that I have not had time yet to catch up on all my email and what
has been on the list lately, but the above caught my eye and I did read the Chris
Foster response. Overall, I have to agree with the Foster statement and confirming
scripture verses and am surprise to read what is attributed to Fretwell.
If Jesus was not God even in the womb of Mary, then why did little John leap in his
mother's womb when Mary came near? When did He "become" God? John 1:14 says, "And
the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as
of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." When did He "become
flesh"? at conception, when as the angel Gabriel said, "The Holy Ghost shall come
upon you..." (Luke 1:35). There can be no other logical nor scientific explanation.
Modern geneticists, gynecologists and pediatricians know that from the moment of
impregnation all the characteristics of a human are present that will characterize
the adult for as long as he or she lives. Every gene, chromosome and hereditary
trait that will be a part of an old man or woman is present from the instant of
conception. All that is needed is nourishment (food), a suitable shelter or
environment (at this stage provided by the mother's womb) and water. This is why
doctors have been able to succeed in producing "test-tube" babies. The surrogate
mother does not have to look anything like either of the real parents nor even be of
the same race. She only needs to provide nourishment, suitable environment and water
and the little man or woman-to-be will grow and mature. And what does an adult
require but those same three things.
Sorry, gotta go now.
Yours for Jesus' sake,
Bro. Sam
