I believe this question is the very crux of our dilemma. I know that it forces
many of us to be hypocrites. 

You see I have a doctrine that I have formulated over many years of study and
trying to seek the mind of God. I hope it is God's doctrine that He has imparted
to me little by little. It is the very essence of my soul, and it is the
obedience to this doctrine that I am trusting to get me to Heaven. 

But if I attend the XYZ Church, I find that the Church has a doctrine. I must
subscribe, obey, and defend this doctrine if I am to be a part of the Church.
What do I do? You can't get up and go to another Church because you will run out
of Churches.

The "Church doctrine" gets very skewed by some of the pastors. I know that many
of these pastors are sincere, but they force us to have to choose between
"their" doctrine and "our" doctrine. You have to choose between being a
hypocrite or finding another Church.  
The question was: "Will you defend a "doctrinal position" at the expense of
Truth"? I am ashamed to say it, but yes I think sometimes some of us will.

I really enjoy this list. Each post I think may be the one that causes the
moderators to throw me off. I don't mean to be a rebel, just want to try to get
my "salvation worked out" before the trumpet blows.
