Maybe this will help. Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this
wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together,
she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just
man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away
privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord
appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take
unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy
Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for
he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might
be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a
virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his
name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
God with us in the child, and God with us as the son, God with us in Christ, God
with us in the man, God with us as the Word made flesh, God with us as the
Messiah, God with us in the flesh, God with us as Jesus.
1 Tim 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was
manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the
Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. What does it mean
when it states "seen of angels'?, and when did the angels see him (God).
True modalism (modes of God verses persons of God) opposes your concept. Your
theology is the same as Sabellian of old. He claimed a theology that espouses
the same premise as yours stated above, i.e. Jesus became God at some point but
was not God at birth.
When the wise men came seeking the "King of the Jews" (Psa 47:6, Psa 89:18, Isa.
33:22) They were very familiar with these preceding verses I have listed, because
they were magi.
When was Jesus not the king of the Jews? When was the Lord our God not the King
of the Jews? Jesus did not become king of the Jews WHEN Pontius made a sign and
put it on the cross! He did not become king but was always the king of the Jews.
The Magi brought something to that child. Gold, frankincense, and myrrh. They
brought it to the king of the Jews not to a child! Why these gifts? They
understood the importance of bringing the material of the Tabernacle of God to
God tabernacled in flesh.
When was OT Tabernacle thought to be without God? An absurd question indeed.
Just as absurd to reason that Jesus was not God at his birth.
I respectfully and in good will submit your premise seems to be inconsistent with
the scripture.
