Is water baptism a "work" ?

Uhh... Dave ... it is an email forum...

On the forum there are many who are earnest, some who are hungry,
   and many believers who have been planted but not watered..
(One of whom, a Christian, complimented me for the way that I handled
  the teachings, and he has not believed in the necessity of water baptism).

The topic was raised by the C of C fellow, my dialog was with another person
  entirely, the *readers* cover a wide spectrum of maybe a coupla hundred... ..

I generally do avoid dialoguing with the more apostate fellow, btw...

Occasionally, for the sake of the forum, I point out an error or 
misrepresentation..
   However that has only happened mainly on the bible version issue

If you have email forums to tell me about that are largely lost souls hungry
    for salvation, I will be very pleased to switch to that forum for the 
bulk of my
    Net dialog...
