I'm not so sure that Bro Schmuel is a new convert either.  As I understand, 
maybe mistakenly, Bro Schmuel is a oneness messianic jew (whether there's such
a thing as a trinitarian messianic jew ... I dont know).  I've no idea as to when 
Bro Schmuel was converted from being a commmon jew to a messianic jew.  It might
be a year ago, two years ago, or just 6 months ago for all I know.

Yeah.  I don't think Bro Dave Vivas was wrong for posting what he posted about
the thread.  Maybe he didn't stick *specifically* to the query that Bro Schmuel
put forth, and as such he's being judged harshly for it.  If anything, Bro Vivas
expanded the discussion to not just the fundamental/necessity of baptism, but
other things as well.  

I don't mind the discussion of different topics, events, and biblical
doctrine(s).  What I do mind is making the discussion *personal* (like a gun 
aimed at someone) making us listmembers the subject and not the topic at hand.
