David,
Sorry if you found 'specimen' offensive. I only meant you are our example of
the WoF *lifestyle*=) Traditionally, David, it is called a movement and does
continue to pervade interdenominationally.
Dave, listen, I sent the last post to expose the fallacious and hellacious
teachings of WoF 'theologians.' How you can twist the confounding words of
these men into acceptable doctrine in the light of Holy Scripture is beyond
me. Back up, take a long hard look at their writings. Clearly, Hagin's
teaching is nothing more than motivational emotionalism with METAPHYSICAL
overtones. Whatever you think, WoF doctrine DOES teach that we are creative
just like God, and that is simply False!!! That is metaphysics, not in the
theosophical sense (as I have already qualified). You, ultimately, believe
that man, like God, possesses a supernatural ability of his own through the
power of his tongue. WoF takes Scriptures (pet ones, it seems), decontex-
taulises them and builds a doctrine of vocal, positive confession out of
nothing. Certainly, speaking is often linked to faith in petitioning God
for answered prayer, but to shift the power from God to the speaker is simply
ludicrous.
Concerning the Capp and Copeland quotes, I have already said that you would,
instead of answering, argue for context--'you should contact these men to find
out exactly what they meant.' However, there exists no context, no situation
where what these men have said would be acceptable:
He [man] breathes spirit life into God's
word and it becomes a living substance,
working for him as it worked for God in
the beginning. (Capp, 117-8)
Adam, in the garden of Eden, was God
manifested in the flesh. (Copeland)
You are as much the incarnation of God
as Jesus Christ was. Every man who has
been born again is an incarnation, and
Christianity is a miracle. The believer
is as much an incarnation as was Jesus
of Nazareth. (Hagin)
Dave, these men speak blasphemies. No way around it. To say that we
are incarnations (essentially, 'gods'), to believe that we create,
to believe that Adam was God in the flesh. These are doctrines of
devils, and if you are truly convinced of these assertions, then your
heart is plainly darkened. It seems to me that you keep hiding behind
the refrain:
'If what you ask agrees with God's word, then you can have it.'
You know Apostolics already believe in faith and God's divine abilities. We
depend on Him for healing, deliverance, financial blessings, provisions, etc.
And if that is what WoF propogated, I would join in with Amens, but these
men are spreading lies, preaching another Jesus, and have ultimately trans-
gressed against the knowledge of Christ. I know this sounds plain, and many
may not like it, but I cannot help but think that you are either very deceived
or very interested in preying upon those who could become confused by the
WoF lingo that you throw out. I provided these quotes, which you CANNOT
back up with Scripture, not to discredit you, but to discredit a movement
(or lifestyle) that ultimately second guesses God and glorifies the creature
rather than the Creator.
Mercy upon you.
All Honour to Christ Jesus.
