RECEIVING REVELATION TASTES LIKE HONEY

(This getting ahead into Revelation chapter 10, but it
is necessary to understand chapter 5. We will
get back to the first chapters later.)_

And Jesus descended from Heaven and gave them revelation of
the message they must preach to all the world, as portrayed
by giving John the book to eat. Notice what events occurred
when Jesus opened their understanding as He opened the seals
to show John, and then gave the book to John to eat.

And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands
and his feet. And while they yet believed not for
joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here
any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish,
and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before
them. And he said unto them, These are the words which
I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all
things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law
of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning
me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might
	understand the scriptures,
	  Luke 24:40-45

Jesus indeed did show them that He was not a Spirit when He ate
the food, but we see another thought here, too. As John tasted
the Word and found it to be as honey, Jesus opened the
understanding of the disciples and symbolized it by eating honeycomb!
Revelation is an opening of understanding concerning a spiritual
truth. And receiving it is like eating honey!

And the revelation Jesus opened to them that day regarded the
following truth:

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand
the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written,
and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from
the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission
of sins should be preached in his name among all nations,
beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these
things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon
you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be
endued with power from on high.
     Luke 24:45-49

   1.Repentance
2.Remission of sins in Jesus' name
3.sending of the promise of the Father.

This was the message regarding redemption! Redemption of an
individual occurs when they apply the Gospel of Christ's death,
burial and resurrection to their lives by repenting, experiencing
remission of sins and receiving the Promise of the Father.

And He told them to preach it to all nations beginning at Jerusalem.
This is precisely what He told John to do when He gave Him the
book to eat.

And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it
up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon
as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. And he said unto me,
Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations,
and tongues, and kings. Rev 10:10-11

When the disciples experienced Jesus' opening their understanding,
some said,

And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he
vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another,
Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with
us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
     Luke 24:31-32

John's belly represents the human spirit. The spirit of a person
is often called the belly.

The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the
	inward parts of the belly.
     Prov 20:27

And John's "belly" burned. His belly became bitter. The disciples
"hearts" burned.

Ezekiel experienced an identical thing, and ate a roll. It , too,
tasted like honey, but it BURNED in his spirit.

And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and
fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then
did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house
of Israel, and speak with my words unto them. Ezek 3:3-4

So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in
bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of
the LORD was strong upon me.
     Ezek 3:14

When the disciples were told they would receive the Holy Ghost,
Jesus showed them that the Holy Ghost was what He referred
to as "the promise of the Father".

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them
that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait
for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye
	have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water;
but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many
	days hence.
     Acts 1:4-5
