I think very few DON'T believe this, elder. On the other hand,
distracted and disoriented people who are weak in the understanding
and power of the Apostle's doctrine are nothing new.

We lament at the immense loss of potential among the Lord's people,
but we ought to stop short at blaming the wrong adversary. Ministry
which fails to impart the truth of salvation, and a faith sufficient
to overcome in this present world - church services which don't set
fire to the hearts of men and women, and saints that don't seek God to
bring the battle to the forfront of their lives - this is where the
problem is.

At the bottom line - you are right. However people are fascinated with
Bible teaching, and the elements of the scripture which remain a
mystery. Much of the prophecy craze that sweeps the churches from time
to time CAN help to make people focus on the coming of the Lord, and
also to defend them from misunderstanding when OTHERS come and teach
errorneous concepts so as to steal away those hearts.

Some of th prophecy teaching is faulty. Other cannot be easily
faulted, but you are right.. The bottom line criteria of any work is

1. DOES it equip the saints for the work of the ministry?
2. Does it draw people into a more solid and more powerful
relationship with God?
3. Does it dispell and no increase foolishness?
4. Does it magnify Jesus Christ, yes, JESUS above our own tradition,
proud knowledge, and religion?
5. DOES it amplify the Acts 2:38 GOSPEL, which is the power of God
unto salvation?

Thanks for your contribution, Elder! I havent seen you participate in
this list to date, so welcome!!

p.s. I hav not personally heard ANYONE teach that Jews can obtain
salvation through systematic sacfrifice or by calling on the name of
anyone but Jesus... has anyone reading?
