I do not generally send 'Amen corner' posts, but I thought I'd like to add to
Bro. Basset's observations about the Word of Faith movement. Kenneth Hagin and
his WoF cohorts do indeed teach very dangerous doctrines that distort true
scriptural meanings and undermine the full deity of Christ. I have recently
completed an article for the _Pentecostal_Press_ web page concerning the
doctrine of Kenosis espoused by these WoF charismatics, and they believe that
Jesus Christ, during His corporal ministry, forfeited qualities of His Godhead
that left Him a mere man, a servant of God (and still somehow God). Ultimately,
this idea denies His sustained, manifestational divinity and undermines the
redemptive work of Calvary.

I am aware that the WoF movement, once rejected by trinitarian Pentecostals, has
once again raised its ugly head making some very key and precarious alliances.
Many trinitarian Pentecostals currently involved in the renewal are uniting with
WoF ministers and charismatic leaders in a sort of ecumenical revival. Rodney
Howard-Browne, a ring-leader for these 'renewal' meetings has close ties with
the WoF movement. My boss belongs to an Assemblies of God church, and she has
recently identified the controversy that is brewing in her organisation con-
cerning the 'renewal' and the influences of these once-rejected charismatic
groups. The Latter Rain Movement was once condemned as a prosperity Gospel
of wealth and health that devalued those of lesser means and affliction, but
it is now reblending itself within the ranks of more prominent trinitarian
Pentecostal organisations.

So, of course, I would say refrain from reading their materials as
inspirational. There is a wave of deception flowing through much of
Christendom, and we must not fall prey to the charismatic spirit of compromise.

Just some observations.

All Honour to Christ Jesus.

Bro. Vivas, I hope you were not offended by any of this information. I would
encourage you to research the Word of Faith movement for yourself.
