Tyler:
I guess I didn't fully understand what answer you were looking for. Yes and no.
Yes, I will allow someone to lay hands on me IF they know the purpose of the
laying on of hands. Also, they must be a Spirit-filled Born Again Believer.
Sure, I would accept prayer.
No - if I don't know that person. I just don't allow *anyone* to lay hands
on me. There are a lot of "Granola Christians" out there: Fruity, flacky,
and nutty.
Ed Dufresne, a Prophet and minister of the Gospel, has a series on this
subject entitled "The Anointing Of Mantles." In this series, he warns
individuals not to allow just anyone to lay hands on you because "spirits"
can be transferred.
In the ministry, I have seen ministers who have lived in adultery, lay hands
on people, and the church was full of adulterers. This is true. This
"spirit" can be transferred and people don't even know it. So I take the
laying on of hands very seriously. I hope this answers your question. In my
experience as a Believer, many individuals claim to have "the gift of
discernment" when in reality is "the gift of suspision." Again, I cannot
over emphasize this: I'm very careful of who I allow to lay hands on me,
especially someone who doesn't pray the Word, but prays in doubt, unbelief,
and without confidence.
