Everything (essentially) is a pyramid. Where do you work? Who owns the
company? It is a flow down from the top (flow down defined...........your
paycheck) At any rate, most network marketing companies use the $$$$
message to bring people into the network. Amway is, simply put, a means
of distributing products (ex-amway guy myself) and services, nothing
inherently wrong about that, but you are correct about the "love of
money" thing you said, it does happen.....and the reason is( doesn't make
it right) because a lot of these people are "in it" to get freedom from
debt and jobs etc...etc...etc... nice idea. Remember. most of these
people(in amway) are good christian folks, who go to good christian
churches that teach it is ok to pursue earthly wealth.
Now, while I do participate (limitedly) in a network marketing company,
you must understand that we "network" things all day long. (example:
Favorite restaurant, Favorite church, Jesus Christ, and on and on.) The
only difference is, we don't get paid monetarily for the referral.
(although I do like the retirement plan that networkin Jesus gives
me......AMEN?) Maybe I am a little different since I spend most of my day
trying to sell insurance for my company, but I do believe that network
marketing is a viable way to make an honest living in the 1990's.
However, it has NO place in the church's sanctuary. I was once
"contacted" by a brother selling Trichromium Picolinate, (a weight
loss/energy/fat-burner pill) at the ALTAR, while service was still going
on!!!
By the way........the pills haven't worked for him....(you can buy them
at wal-mart for 1/2 the price) Oh, and Trichromium Picolinate contains
Ma Huang, which is basically caffeine, No thanks my hot tea will deliver
caffeine just as well.
So if you are a networker, just don't forget, If you can go up to that
stranger and tell him about "expanding your business in this area", and
"needing some sharp people to help with the extra burden" then you CAN
DEFINITELY tell him about Jesus.

God Bless You,
