Let us keep in mind that Ahab, Saul, and many other wicked leaders in the
Bible were indeed moved by the prophets and the presence of God. And
evidently God wanted His people to be in those places as a witness (not just
for public relations). For this reason, I think it is very much in order
for our preachers to pray and singers to sing at these secular and political
events.

Well, actually they are honored to have the people of God there as much as
the other way around :) ! But yes, I agree with your point.

The exciting thing is that not only were God's people there, but evidently
God was there Himself. Was He not also in the court of Pharoah when Moses
and Aaron entered in? And before Pilate when Jesus stood in the court? And
before King Darius when Daniel stood before him? And before Ahauaserus when
Esther presented here petition?
The Scripture has been on my mind continually these last few weeks. When
Daniel talked about the end of time and the wickedness that would engulf the
world, he inserted a little line in his prophecy, "...but the people that do
know their God shall be strong, and do exploits."
Hey, he was talkin about us!
