Thanks fort your remarks, Brother Bassett. But I must point out that
I have heard both sides of the major "trib" debate - pre and post -
and noticed that BOTH arguments get people powered up to live
for God in a greater measure!

I assume your reference to prophecy sermons being "POWERFUL instruments"
relates to the thought that you believe they get people to the altar.

Perhaps you simply are referring to the means of delivering truths about
Christ's coming.

At any rate, I would like to make this point. We have pre, mid and post
-trib people preaching about the Lord's coming. All three arguments
have moved me to live closer to God. So, if we said that the results of
these "POWERFUL instruments" shows their validity, we are incorrect, for
this does not prove out their validity. I feel that scaring people will
bring them to the altar, but I would never use that tactic, myself.

I sharply disagree with scaring tactics. It affects the emotions,
and emotional conversions do not last long. God wants the SPIRIT
of a person affected.

It reminds me of Mike Warnke's testimony about being involved
in devil worship. (I know the guy is trinitarian and did not preach
Acts 2:38, but my point is this:--) The guy convincingly hauled people
to the altar by the droves with his story, and it turned out the guy was
lying about the whole thing.

Paul said he even thanked God
for people who railed against him with the Gospel, since the Gospel
was still being given forth. Paul would look at all three angles
of the "trib" point of view, and probably thank God for their preachers
since the end result is getting people to obey the Gospel, but Paul
knew that at least two of these arguments would be wrong in themselves.
