Dear Bro. Roger,

all I can say is amen to what you wrote. It is so true. Often we try to
measure people by our standards, often, if they don't live up to these
standards, we look down on them....all the while we are the ones who are not
living up to God's standards. My pastor preached about being an example to
the younger ones in the church, not only to the children, but also to the
new-babies in Christ. He said we must be the ones to teach them to fight. He
brought out the story of David and his nephew (forgot his name, shame on me
:) ) who when David was fixing to get killed in battle came right up to
David and slew the attacker instead. He was only able to do that, because
David had taught him. Is it not the same with us and our children? We are
the ones that teach them to be faithful when it comes to prayer, church,
tithing. We are the ones that teach them the right attitude towards the lost
and we are the ones that teach them love and patience for our fellow man. If
our children go to heaven is only our responsibility...noone can take that
from us, no pastor, no school, no church. We must teach them truth and a
love for God. The only "thing" we can ever take with us to heaven is our
children. God bless. Doris

P.S. Welcome to Higher-Fire :)
