Here is some more of the same concern, directly from Pakistan:

In my opinion, the things to ponder are the following:
1.  When Taliban came into power in Afghanistan, one of the more positive 
responses in favor of the Taliban was from the Clinton Administration;
2. The ex-general that is backing Imran Khan has previously strong ties with 
the taliban (who are an offshoot of the Jamaat-e-Islami);
3. There is no possible way Imran Khan could have won the next election if the 
status quo persisted;
4. Imran Khan married into a very powerful and influential western family;
5. The so-called presidential decree came on the day before the U.S. election.

All of the above can be perceived as isolated incidence and there is no way I 
can prove any connection but all of these events happened in a relatively 
small amount of time...so go figure.
