every criminal a chance

sometimes I wonder if we don't give criminals too many chances??? In Germany
there is no death-penalty. Matter of fact, Germany is very lenient and human
to their criminals. For instance a child-molester gets only 5 to 7 years in
prison (I believe) but gets out on probation after 2 years, with the
obligation to go and see a therapist, if his time permits. So a lot of times
these people are out on the streets looking for little girls to molest and
kill. That just happened recently not too far away from Augsburg and it
makes me sick to see how humane criminals are treated and the victims often
are being left alone and helpless in all of their hurt...in court often
depicted as the monsters who luerd the poor criminal into this act. Sob,
sob, booh hoo hoo. Sometimes I think the death-penalty is not such a bad
option. I mean I like what Texas does...give them a shot and put them to
sleep. The electric chair of the gas-chamber is cruel, but putting them to
sleep I have no problem with. I hope I don't sound heartless, but I think of
the many people that might get killed by a person like this. There was even
a case in Germany, where a person locked up in an institute for the
criminally insane was let out on vacation (they do that over here, weekends,
vacations, to go and work somewhere) and he turned around raped and killed a
little 10 year old girl. Sure they have rights, but the little girl has
rights too and I'm not so sure if you do not forfeit certain rights when you
turn into a murderer. Doris
