As American citizens we should exercise our privilige to vote.  As for
myself, I feel that Senator Dole  and Jack Kemp are the most qualified men
on the slate during this campaign.  Although I think the labels
'conservative' and 'liberal' do not always line up with 'godly' and
'ungodly', for the most part, the conservative Republican agenda is more in
line with my convictions as a U.S. citizen.

Keep in mind that there are other choices besides Clinton, Dole, and Perot.
I believe that (for those who don't feel that any of the aforementioned are
strong enough against it) the Taxpayer Party is very strong against
abortion.  I was taught as a child that if ya don't vote, then you never
have a right to complain about those in power.

However, keep in mind that who we have in the White House and in Congress
does not necessarily have direct impact on the church.  In fact, the
greatest years of growth within the UPC were not during the Eisenhower or
Reagan-Bush years!  The steepest rate of growth was between 1967-1972, the
time of Watergate, Vietnam, the OPEC embargo, recession, devaluation of the
dollar, slow growth, the disgraceful resignation of the vice-president and
the near impeachment of a president!  Yet the church was having great
REVIVAL!  I have heard, but not statistically confirmed yet, that the Clinto
years have also been a time period of tremendous growth within the church
worldwide.

Maybe it just proves Paul's words, "Where sin doth abound, grace the much
more abounds..."  :)
